Bob was a tax guy who shut everyone down than weaseled his way in at least DLH was a fighter, anyway I truly believe Oscar would work with Bob, Bob is the one who lost tens of millions because he wouldn't promote a DLH-Mayweather fight.
I think there is more to it than that, they are pissed that Floyd never came around to making the Pacquiao fight, that fight would have generated huge numbers. I think its HBOs way of telling GBP we are not going to take these shitty cards your putting together, and lets be real the only interesting fight GBP has put on so far this year doesnt come until April 20th
Arum wasn't interested in the Mayweather fight. Peterson/Matthysse, Ponce/Mares, Garcia/Judah are decent. What's HBO putting on in the meantime? Rigo/Donaire.....
He really is I hate when people give Golden Boy and Top Rank the same dislike, Arum has easily cost himself 50 million with his hate he blocked the two biggest fights of our time.
In the video above, Arum says he isnt going to give GBP the time of day. Kind of kills any hope of that fight, no?
This is a bad deal for fans, regardless who you root for, the implications will be felt across the board.
I dont mind it to be honest, HBO has done this before in the past and came out on top in terms of the better boxing network I am sure they know what they are doing
Well thats because they had fighters like Oscar, Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Lennox, Mosley, Gatti etc. It's not even close to what they used to have.
I am talking about the early to mid 90s When Tyson came back, Showtime had Chavez, Trinidad, Tyson, and Holyfield.... Lewis was on HBO, so was Oscar and Roy Jones, right around the time when Holyfield set to fight Lewis, everything became HBO, Trinidad made the switch over, Chavez made the switch when he fought Oscar, Holyfield came back to HBO after having worked with Showtime, he came back for the Lewis fight. and Suddenly we had guys like Vargas surfacing, Forrest.... it was really dull on Showtime for a long time. and its likely going to happen here, Showtime will have a couple good years and everything will come back to HBO.
