Good card, De Leon & Mares pumps life back into this.... A LSC fight will always add to any card. The J'Leon love Vs. Rosado fight is kind of bummer on the card for me. (Angulo or Kirkland instead of Love would have been better IMO) ^But I get why Love is in the card.
Mayweather Promotions will be fine, even if young Love stumbles. They've got two world champs and counting. This content is protected This content is protected ...and more blue chips than J'Leon alone... This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Honestly Mares/PDL could be more "exciting" than the Canelo/Trout fight since I think Trout is going to turn and outbox Canelo all night. It's a good card. Real fans will be watching :smoke
Angulo-Rosado II would have been ****ing amazing as the 3rd fight on the card but there likely isn't enough cash for that. I bet Rosado and Love are taking in the 150k range each for the fight. Angulo vs Rosado is probably worth a lot more.
yeah good point. Best case scenario, Love loses in a competitive fight that he learns from and both of their stocks go up after the fight yeah real talk. IB made a very good point though.
In terms of attendance at MGM? 14k is probably a reasonable guess, just under a sell-out. We won't know the official numbers until a few days after the show.
Bump. Steve Kim is reporting that Jonathan Romero is the likely candidate for Santa Cruz on May 4. Good fight. Updated (likely) card: Mayweather-Guerrero Mares-PDL Santa Cruz-Romero Rosado-Love
Canelo vs Trout is a great main event but the only other fight confirmed there is Figueroa vs Abner Cotto. Those will likely be the only fights shown. Hardly warrants your praise.
Nah, son. Too much talent at 160. After the Maravilla era there will still be GGG, Pirog, Geale, Kid Choc, Lee, HNN, the British 3 musketeers (Barker/Macklin/Murray) and young guns (Saunders and Ryder), Korobov, Nielsen, Chudinov, Guerrero and Jacobs all in their 20's or early 30's. I'm not ready to project Love beating any of them as of now. Hell, at present I'm not sure I'd favor him comfortably over anyone on the Lorenzo/Majewski/Proksa/Bursak/Rubio tier.
That's a very good card, especially if they get someone decent for Santa Cruz. Romero would be awesome
