The rift between GBP and HBO is a considerable loss to boxing specially to the fans.

Eventually who do you think will be the loser in this rift, GBP the seller or HBO the buyer?

    Vote and discuss...

Both. HBO doesn't get access to the deepest stable in the sport.

Golden Boy now only has one buyer, and Showtime has a ton of power. They can pick and choose what they will buy and can force some great in house matchups.

If you are the seller, you want bigger market ... you want a lot of buyers ...

Golden Boy loses. They no longer have their fighters on the premier network HBO

The best thing to come of this, is we're going to get some great in house fights and soon, especially around 140-147

    Garcia-Matthysse
    Broner-Khan
    Berto-Guerrero II(Winner fight Thurman)
    Winners fight each other.

Winners of those would be a Mayweather front runner

There's no winner in this rift, both losses ... but who's the bigger loser?

Short term, HBO, because SHowtime has exclusive access, and can depress the licensing fees for fighters and force great match ups. Showtime is going to be red hot for the next few years.

Long term, GBP will. They are going to get muscled by Showtime to make the big fights and will burn their stable out with no viable alternative.

HBO in the long term is still HBO, has the bigger subscriber base, bigger budget. Bigger better brand. Very few fighters have become stars in the US without coming up on HBO. They build stars.

they both lose and both will be fine. Honestly dont see this lasting too long.

But...people tune in to watch the fighters, not the network.
