Correct me if I'm wrong in this interpretation... I think it's only GBP that is banned in doing business with HBO, all other promoters are welcomed by HBO.

Showtime also allows all promoters to do business with them. No one is banned at Showtime.

Showtime hasn't televised a Top Rank fight since Lopez/Salido II last February. They have all but banned Top Rank

The move just doesn't make any sense for HBO. If you dont like a fight from GBP just say no dont say you will not do biz with them any longer.

This is really dumb on two fronts. Essentially if you're a GBP fighter you are basically ensure to only have a crack at one of the top two networks budget. Smaller pie to draw from = less attractive signing option. The flip side of this is if you look at the roster of starts that will no long be on HBO cards its pretty ridiculous. I actually support HBO's initiative and the line in the sand they are trying to draw. HBO survived without Tyson they think they can survive without Floyd. Fair enough. My guess they will both call a truce before there is a clear loser. HBO can't out and out lose this fight because there is enough talent other places to keep making good fights. GBP can't lose as long as the guy running Showtime boxing continues to be a GBP stuge and former DLH crony. But they'd be in **** if showtime every changed their tune.

So you mean Showtime unofficially banned Top Rank from their network?

What if Top Rank has a great fight, I think Showtime can still bid to host it?

I think the best fights is a mix and match from all promoters not from only one stable/promoter.

The answer is HBO, they are now at the mercy of Arum, the only guys they have who are not controlled by Arum are Ward and Martinez, GGG gets money with Arum. Someone said earlier that Golden Boy only had one buyer that is flat out wrong they can put their lower guys on ESPN, Fuel or maybe Fox Sports 1. Also don't forget they can do say an extra 2 pay per views a month and stack the cards with fights we want to see like Matthysse vs anyone good or Broner vs Garcia.

Keep in mind HBO only had 3 Golden Boy shows planned this year, Broner-Rees and Hopkins-Cloud which already happened and Paulie-Broner so calm down people we lost nothing today.

Haymon and GBP somehow exhaust networks for all their money. When Showtime has blown their yearly budget on overpriced fights, HBO will be floating along still. Also, GBP has a massive stable of fighters, there's no way Showtime will have room for all their fighters.

Showtime is doing the same thing to Top Rank and has been for over one year, they just haven't officially announced it like HBO.

The guy in charge of Showtime boxing hates Arum, Showtime could offer 5 million and Arum will turn it down he's turned down more for possible Mayweather fights for personal reasons.

Exactly and you also want high grosses as well which I believe HBO has deeper pockets than Showtime.

Sure Showtime gave Floyd a sweet deal but the other fighters are likely not going to make what they made on HBO

What about it? HBO has more demand and is better off economically. Showtime and GBP can criticize all they want, the same thing is done at their end via Showtime. With your logic you can say Haymon and Schaefer run Showtime.

There is no truth to that, they likely havent offered the kind of money HBO has offered Top Rank. sold to the highest bidder remember...

Showtime still makes over 200 million a month, it's not like it's not a huge success itself, anyway if Golden Boy stacks 2 PPV s with fighters you don't think they can get about 100,000 buys which should be enough to turn a profit on most there guys
