I really thought Jackson was smarter than this. You know, acquire a top fighter here and there, and work with BOTH Top Rank and Gbp. I hope Oscar makes him wear fishnets and apologize. 50 needs to know his place he got some ass kissing to do. Got off on the wrong foot.
For the sake of more match making possibilities, I hope Broner takes 50's deal. That way GB and TR fighters could all be potential opponents for Adrian. The signing would also go along way in breaking up the power distribution amongst promoters which would throw a major wretch into these monotonous narratives that we're continuously subjected to.
Schaefer strikes me as more of a cold blooded business man that doesn't subject his decisions to emotional baggage the way Arum does. Yes. If there are sensible fights that can be made, which there would be, I believe GB would still work with Broner.
Cold blooded biz men like running people out of the market. I would think Schaefer might not do any fights with Broner to show others in his stable if you leave you are on your own
Why does he deserve a million a fight? Donaire probably isn't getting a million a fight. Andre Ward probably isn't getting a million a fight. Most of the P4P list at best gets 1 million or so a fight and is lucky to have that. So how is this Broner guy worth 40 million all of a sudden and all of a sudden he's where on the P4P list? Boxing is rigged.
He's not the next Floyd though. He's not nearly as skilled. Did he win a gold medal? He's not even comparable to Floyd. He's just not. Why not give this deal to Donaire? Donaire has been winning and winning and looking good doing it. Why not Andre Ward? Why not? He's not worth even 1 million dollar a fight in my opinion. Lets be realistic, guys like Timothy Bradley, Nonito Donaire, Andre Ward, Carl Froch, all who have had tougher fights, longer careers, better resume, and look more impressive too, none of them are getting 1.5 million a fight. Why should this young kid be worth 1.5 million a fight? That is what you pay legends in the sport. Cotto should be getting that, Martinez, Ward, Timothy Bradley and Donaire should be getting 1 million a fight. Superstars should be getting 5-10 million a fight.
It sucks, but Ward and Donaire haven't developed "Cult Followings"..... like Canelo had out the gate for the color of his hair or Broner (though he does show some skills) for his "shock value" I guess :conf It sometimes appears they don't care as much about the quality of the product, as opposed to the ratings and asses in seats and the "lighting up" of message boards and twitter and **** when they fight (or in some cases, do ANYTHING.). :!:
Yet after Mosley left GB to fight Pac they later brought him back and fed him to Canelo. And apparently they recently tried to do the same with JMM.
The only reason they let them go was so they could fight Manny and get paid. Mosley is also a partner in GBP.
Broner draws ratings, it's that simple. Let's say Broner never reaches Floyd's level , if he can even become a pay per view headliner he will be with a fortune, I don't see Broner being Ortiz or Khan, he should be able to fight Mexicans and race bait like Floyd
The point is that there's precedent of a GB fighter leaving the company and GB later working with them. I also pointed out that they recently tried to match JMM with Canelo.
