After being rejected twice for a BBBoC licence Iain Weaver has now been granted a Spanish Boxing Boarch of Control licence. He won't be allowed to fight in England but can still train and have his camps here he will just have to fight out in Spain. He has also ended his promotional ties with Matchroom.

Will be difficult for him to make a career that way, he won't be able to sell tickets so why would Spanish promoters give him opportunities?

thats what i thought I'm pretty sure Upton Park isn't in Luxenbourg (although Spanish and Luxenbourg rules could be different I suppose)

Tony Thompson didn't need a British license to fight here, surely Iain can fight here? Couldn't Matchroom have him as an away fighter everytime? I doubt the European boxing board would kick Spain out of it like they did/tried to do with Luxembourg

Boxing News (think it was them anyway) also reported a while back that he was looking to get an Irish license. Presume they didn't license him as well?
