Nobody is arguing resume quality although I agree that it has to play a factor in decision making process here. Pea has to get the nod in terms of H2H though, no doubt, although I'm inclined to give Floyd the nod in more than 50% of the attributes listed. :yep

Floyd beats him in a war of attrition

    8-4, possibly 7-5.

    Floyd would be too much.

Pea has a better resume, but Mayweather would beat him.

In this argument dont watch eithers fights though. You play their opponents careers on dvd on your tv an watch them.

I mean, you can make a case for Floyd for everything other than jab and foot speed.

Pernell would be successful in the early stages of the fight. But Floyd's size+height/punching power would then prove to be too much.

And Floyd's defense is better than Whitaker's anyways.

    A war of attrition

    8 rounds to 4

    Possibly 7-5

I think Floyd is the only fighter in this era who can contest the Fab 4.

    I give him a good chance vs Ray @ 147 (5-5 in a 10 match confrontation)

    He'd beat Duran at 147

Lose more than win vs Hearns

Floyd would have his hands more than full outright against duran. Hearns forget it

Yup. Hearns would beat Mayweather probably 7-9 times out of 10

He'd beat Duran almost every time, sorry to say. But it's true.

Him and Leonard would be fun. A close match.

Floyd couldn't have beat Duran at 135 let alone going to 147 or 160.

Floyd kills him man. 135 it would be a good match but 147 Floyd destroys him.

I would even say Manny Pac @ 147 beats Duran 147.

this thread is now trolling. i wasnt hating on floyd dude. just the contenders themselves in the 80s n 90s was sky high, let alone the titlists . more rich eras duran n pea were tangled up in

Yes no one is doubting that Pea/Duran are higher on the ATG list and have beaten better opponents

But Floyd still beats them both

    Same with Joe Louis/Lennox.

Louis has beaten better opponents and belongs higher up in the ATG list.

    But Lennox kills Louis.
