This is a strange situation as essentially I am arguing against myself because I am a massive David Haye fan, but obviously Tyson has a punchers chance at 18 or 19 stone in shape when they meet. His punch output is also insane compared to David's , any fan of either would acknowledge this. It would be a great fight, but Haye really - if I am honest - has only beat old heavies and his most significant win was Chisora who Tyson beat very easily with a broken hand, out of shape and at just 21 years old :scaredas:
We all have opinions. I was VERY impressed with what I saw from Fury Vs Chisora and especially Vs Johnson. If I'm wrong and Fury get's exposed like Price did Vs Skelton and Thompson, then I'll take some stick for it.
Yeah this is how I feel about it. I rate Fury highly for the stage he's at in his career, and I've been a fan of his from the start, but it's a little too early. Right now Haye would be too much for him, but it won' be that way forever. Skills, interested to hear your thoughts, being a Fury fan and all.
I will report back maybe tomorrow with a post mate. Have a think about it but i will say right now Haye wins. Tyson's got a bit of work to do, But he seems to be getting there.
Nope, that's not happening mate :good If Fury was going to be exposed in such circumstances it would have been against Firtha who just gone the distance vs Povetkin or Pajkic. Both guys caught him FLUSH multiple times as his defence was shocking, but he still found a way to win by KO in both match ups. Fury has long since gone past 'exposition' level. He is now fighting a World Champion in his backyard :good
Thing is Haye beat a better Chisora in a better fashion. Fury makes far too many mistakes and Haye would make him pay. Not to mention Fury being a loony who might lose his head in a really big fight. I think Haye would get in his head beforehand and spark him in the fight. Cunningham isn't a bad 'tune-up' for a Haye fight though
Yes Haye beat a better Chisora than Fury did, but Fury has also improved since that fight, and styles make fights. However I do agree that Haye has more power than Fury. Fury used to make mistakes, but when he's at his best he rarely makes them. Also, you have to specify what those mistakes are, and you can't just presume that Haye would punish him for every mistake he makes, Haye could be flawed in the same area. Fury is a bit of a loose cannon so you never no, but Fury didn't lose his head against Chisora or Johnson, his biggest fights so far. Fury is very tough mentally and doesn't get intimidated (I haven't seen anyone intimidate him so far), I don't see Haye bothering him with mind games TBH. The Cunningham fight is a great fight, but Fury is just as skilled as Cunningham, if not more skilled, not to mention the huge size difference.
Styles make fights. That old chestnut. Its true but there is nothing to suggest that Haye is a good style for Fury. There's another saying - it's all about levels; or - a very good little 'un beats a good big 'un. Mistakes: in short, and going off SafetyPin fight - a low left hand against Haye invites a right hand Hayemaker which is Haye's best shot. Fury doesn't have the hand/foot speed of Wlad and wouldn't avoid them. He also uppercuts himself Haye wouldn't intimidate him IMO. He's just wind him up so he comes out all guns blazing, doesn't utilise his reach/height advantage and gets comprehensively outgunned. Also Fury was rattled by Naazim Richardson at the presser. Doesn't have to be physical imtimidation to get to him. Fury is not just as skilled as Cunningham at all. If they're both the same size Cunningham wins 9 times out of 10. Add in that KJ is a perfect fit for Fury stylewise, KJ only had 3 weeks prep and Fury's never been in a massive fight.
