Glad this fight is happening, would be satisfied if either man won. Stand by my earlier post. But my analysis depends on an ideal Donaire, the one we've seen lately, and BBall has spent more time on his weaker performances. There are no excuses for those, they are habits against personally challening styles that he exhibited multiple times out, but the question is how permanently they are broken.

I don't think Donaire even has to start putting leather on Rigo to get him to crab up. Once he feels the woosh from one of Donaire near hits, he's gonna panic. I see Rigo trying to box safe, but I see Donaire using his jab to bother and distract Rigo to get him to open up and then counter him with something big

No chance that happens if they even fight. Mikey Garcia is an average come forward fighter but he doesn't know how to box. Donaire would easily win a decision or KO him with his left hook. They wont fight anyways because Robert Garcia said he loves Nonito too much like his own family even if he stopped training him.

Rigo will be open cause hes coming to win. Hes not gonna sit back in survival mode. Rigo is very predictable and i think Donaire will be able to control the distance, apply smart pressure and force Rigo to open up. Donaire by TKO.

Orlando Salido is horrible, Garcia needs to face Gamboa.

Mathebula is a 6 footer that fought a very awkward style. Vazquez looked huge with a 15 pound advantage on fight night and that's the only reason why Donaire even though he was close couldn't finish him off. Nishikoa and Arce were both tough fights and Donaire performed excellent and got the KO's in both fights. Rigondeaux is one heck of a fighter but Donaire will KO him as well.

Donaire is a very good fighter and the verdict is still out on Guillermo I never bought into his hype but guy is talented. Do see Rigo frustrating him badly as Donaire looks great against hittable fighters and get impatient. Mathebula is the most used as well as best example. Dont get me wrong Donaire has the talent to overcome that style most importantly skill but he plays too much into the fans which irritates me.

Problem with Rigo is like Wlad(since post-Brewster) he waits too long between throwing punches but unlike Wlad he doesn't completely nullify his opponent despite that. He is crafty/slick but gets startled too easy imo with fighters coming towards him. I also can only remember 1 time he actually came forward(at least gunz blazing which was like 3 fights ago. Might be more examples of him coming forward but in a measure way). Donaire likes to explode and it will be interesting how Rigo handles that. See him trying to jab him to a decision and if fortunate enough land the blow to finish the job though less likely scenario to me.

April 13 cant come any sooner will be a very interesting "slow decision fight or die any second" kinda fight. Love those. Both guys very skilled.

I could seriously see a pose fest

this fight will probably look like Haye vs Wlad Klitshcko if there is no KO

2 guys with lots of power and danger who are hard to hit and will not open up

I think Rigo's style of countering only and never being the leader will make Donaire the one who is forced to dictate the fight

Rigo in his big wins doesnt attack his knockouts and knockdowns and when he hurts guys bad is from counters even in a fight that he dominated and got an early KO vs Kennedy he stood and posed and didnt punch for stretches

he doesnt attack hurt opponents he merely waits to keep countering until they break and fall, when they dont eventually a guy gets through like Cordoba or Marroquin these guys stay on their feet long enough and they get the one opening they can get

Donaire had a similar fight vs Nishioka, Nishioka did what Rigo will do only Nishioka isnt as good on defense. Donaire eventually waited out Nishioka and bombed him, now my question is does Rigo get impatient and try to do what Nishioka does or does he remain defensive

i think this may be one of those fights where the first guy to open up is the first guy to lose. This is why i think this might be a pretty bad fight

I agree. It was a combination of Donaire desperate to land that one punch, and Mathebula bringing awkward height and defensive movement, while Vasquez pressured and confused Donaire, who was fighting with a broken hand.

You see the direct opposite in Nishioka, who also made Donaire lead. Donaire slowly picked him apart and got the stoppage by waiting for the right opportunity. Instead of slugging it out with Arce like he did with Vasquez, Donaire offset his pressure, measured him, and found the right shots.

Rigondeaux has some very crafty moves and has great balance, but we've never seen him operate at such a high level. Being that his chin is also questionable, I imagine that Donaire will trigger a counter and throw with him and hurt him.

If Rigo's chin can hold up, I like his chances...

So you think Rigo can outbox Donaire round after round?
