He ran from 168 cause after Kessler lost to Joe C he was his mandatory for his paper title, he knew he was gonna cop another loss against Kessler so he bitched out.
Then bitched out again at 160 when he was to fight GGG .
Then at 154 bitched out again against Trout
Went back to 160 and got schooled by Geale
Now more a nobody on the world stage than ever before.

Boxoncottonon once said of Mundine "he is the first man to duck title shots in 3 decending weight divisions"

It really cannot be summed up much better than that

Had a belt in a weight division ie: super middle then ducked.
Didn't defend title he changed weights instead. Down, which is odd. If you can't beat Usain running forward, see who is the fastest man in backwards. That sort of thing.

Yes we get it Mundine ducked some fighters we all know that, the point I was making was he very good at 168 and should have stayed there, he could have just ducked a Kessler rematch and stay at 168, I reckon he should have fought Sakio just after he won the contender at the time it would have been a 50/50 fight IMO.

I believe that gem quote originated from WhatARock (some homo sharkies fan) at least according to oztrikers signiture.

Sakio Bika won 'The Contender' final at the end of 2007. So the Mundine v Bika match-up you are suggesting would have been a 50/50 contest, would have made most sense being held in early 2008.

The reality is in 2008 Mundine wasn't interested in 50/50 fights. He was busy fighting the likes of Hamden, Soliman II, Crazy Kim etc.

What percentage was the Hamdan fight then in your opinion?

Nowhere near 50 / 50. Most didn't give Hamden any chance and that's the way it panned out. Two of the judges only gave Hamden 1 round between them.

Agree Mundine was not interested which was a shame as it would have been a good fight, after Mundine destroyed Soliman he really should have challenged himself instead of making easy defence's, if he chose to challenge himself he would have had a few more lose's but he would have become a respected good fighter and got that USA exposure he talks about wanting now... If Mundine had a bit more heart and determination I reckon he could of had a go in the showtime super 6.... We will never know as he wasted his prime...
