No, my point is competley valid. The example you gave is a poor one. Sky will show what gets subscribers and viewers. There not a charity.
Eubank goes into one of those poems about the righteous then goes "ah ah ah" and waving his finger wen the judge tries to interrupt him a la adam smith. Owned
Just listened to Radio Five Live there, brilliant programme, Mike Costello is class. Buncey gave Burns the best advice, go an speak to an independent lawyer, that is the golden rule when moving from one promoter to another. Put it like this, if are going to buy an overseas property, you dont take the free legal advice from the agent that is selling you the property, you pay an extra few quid and get independent advice. It is Burns who will pay if he loses a court case. Many, many fighters over the years have learned this the hard way. Remember Steve Robinson lost @100k when he moved from Matchroom to Wazza for a fight with Hodkinson. He got a very good purse for that fight, but he ultimately had to pay 100k after losing his case.
Btw, regardless of what you think of Wazza, it would be very foolish to write him off. When he got shot, he was also up to his neck with problems with that big ambitious sports stadium project. Back then, his fighters had to leave him until he got back on his feet. Despite the problems he has had lately, it is nowhere near as bad as that time.
Downloaded it this morning... Brilliant. I liked the bit where Eddie said the Bellew case was dropped, because VVarren couldnt prove he had adequate funds to pay damages if he lost. (I forget the legal term) Pretty damming that
The best bit was the no win no fee comment, I will say this about Frank when he go's in attack mode he is brilliant to listen to. he has this pathological way of squirming out of any questions that may damn him and turning round so its everybody else's fault.
That's all well and good. But don't be surprised Ricky does what Eddie did and get the judge to order Frank to put his costs in escrow, just in case Frank loses. Ala the Tony Bellew case....
Yeah, what if Wazza puts up the dough this time, it is a dangerous game & wazza seemed very **** sure he had a contract with Burns. Burns is one of the nicest lads in boxing, I hope he has taken independent legal advice and is covered, not just gambling that wazza wont put up the security money for the case to be heard.
:deal If Frank is right, then Burns will be sued a **** load of how much the contracts still worth which could be hundreds of thousands. I hope Eddie's lawyers have seen it all and are 100% sure
The "no win no fee" comment does allude to something slightly dodgy that FW maybe getting into in terms of legal fees, after the Bellew case was dropped because he was ordered to put funds in escrow I'd expect that he is attempting to find a way to circumnavigate a similar ruling. He'll definitely take a stand on Burns anyway as he was the jewel in Boxnation's crown and he has to be seen to be doing something even if he loses.
Speaking of Mike Costello, he's by far the best commentator in Britain. He should be on Sky, seeing as his BBC schedule is so infrequent.
