A lot of people saying that Pac has a whole nation behind him which is inaccurate, as there's a lot of Filipino people that don't support Pac.

It's just like saying all people of African descent support Mayweather when that's not correct at all.

Not comparable at all, Pacquiao is a national hero and icon, Floyd isn't. Fair enough not all Filipinos will support him but a massive percentage do. And to people who say Asians dont know boxing you should spend time over there, boxing and associated sports are huge in that part of the world.

    maybe over there

In America, Asians don't know boxing for the most part especially east asians. japanese don't leave the house unless a star trek convention is going on. doreans are in front of the mirror trying to look cute like their k pop heroes. There's more white boys who do chinese martial arts than chinese doing it.

Seeing an Asian-American in a boxing gym is a rare phenomenon.

Floyd's fans vs manny's fans is like the movie 300. Team 300 was small in number but quality enough to slaughter the mass legion of ******s.

Well walk along the street in Bangkok or Phnom Penh and the sports on the TV are usually Boxing, Thai Boxing or Khmer fighting.

And as for the second part, the thread is about the most popular not some shitty film about men in armour.

LOL it's actually not like saying that at all!!! Mayweather isn't first generation African - that's like saying all whites like Oscar De La Hoya! I can't believe the ignorance of this post. Pacquiao is actually from the Phillipines, which is a country. Africa is a content 1000s of miles from the US where Mayweather was born and raised :patsch

Have you been to the Phillipines? Pacquiao is a GOD there, there are bound to be some people who don't like him but by and large he is more revered in the Phillipines than any athlete anywhere else in their own country

Go to other Asian countries, go to Thailand where Thai boxing is a national sport and ask them if they know Pacquiao...his worldwide acclaim is everywhere. Even in the US it's close, in terms of actual FANS of Pacquiao he might have the edge over Mayweather.

Just when I think I couldn't be more amazed by people on this forum I'm proved wrong again and again

It depends where u live. I think Mayweather is by far the most popular in the US. Khan is only big in the UK and i think in ****stan.

The Klitschkos are superstars here in Germany, nobody knows who Mayweather or Pacman are over here.

Floyd has his **** together over in the UK, breaking the UK PPV record previously set by none other than Mike Tyson. manny for all his worldwide popularity failed to do this. Salesmanship and popularity are different.

He was fighting Hatton, what do you expect? LOL this is about marketability, not popularity. Mayweather is the most marketable fighter in the sport, he is not the most popular. This is really simple lol
