Because of his physical gifts, punching power, defensive abilities, slickness, chin

Ffs only 16% of Floyd's opponents' shots land on him

If it's an even trade then I don't see how Floyd's defense takes it "easily" in the grand scheme of things. Especially when in his prime, Whitaker looked more dynamic and better against a bigger offensive challenge.

It's not about being older, it's about not being worn and faded. Older in boxing years. But your earlier comments are becoming less and less relevant as the conversation continues. Whitaker has an edge in combination punching, an edge in ring generalship, and you could say even defensively, but if anyone has an edge, it's Whitaker.

 

floyd is not better than whitaker. Pernell would stand right in your zone an make you miss. Hed come right inside stand there an **** with you. Again go watch there opponents fights. Pernell could do it in your radar, he woud use your own body against you.

 

How he takes the defense dept easy?
As i have stated. Floyd has more dimensions, he evolves, he have a more penatrating defense, and more complex defense that includes everything that Pea can do and more.

Anyone can learn how to duck and roll fairly quickly but few can master what Floyd does in the ring.

I could avoid punches with ducks and rolls but if you ask me to time and pull counter, shoot over the jab, and check hook people. I will not be able to do it. To stand toe to toe and avoid shots? Heck no.... i can't do it. but if you want me to be a constant moving target hell yeah, i can do that.

Then why is it that Floyd's compubox stats are so much better than Whitaker's.

16% connect on him

Whitaker had nowhere near that.

Mayweather is a man who doesn't get hit, ever.

He's also stronger, more physically gifted, better defensively, farther range, better at fighting on the inside, better chin. Whitaker would find himself getting frustrated by Floyd's slickness. He wouldn't hit Floyd as much as he would others.

He'd see a man on the other side of the ring, stronger, better, slicker than he is, with a better chin might I add, with more heart.

Floyd wouldn't miss often against Whitaker. Those right hands would tag him all night. He'd possibly drop Whitaker in the championship rounds.

 

Floyd knows the ring better than whitaker, pernel knew styles better an could sit right there with you no matter what your style. Floyd could never go in close like pernell an have that success

 

If Floyd's defense (in terms of not getting hit) is superior, it's due in part to his being far more focused on it and risk averse. People don't seem to realize prime Whitaker's punch output would hit 1000, and he had various fights where he landed 400, even 500 punches. So to do that while remaining as elusive as he was is pretty incredible.

 

Whitaker wins the fight w his jab alone.

But Floyd is a better h4h fighter than Whitaker. Whitaker would beat many guys at 147, but Floyd is NOT one of them.

I've watched McGirt, Hurtado, Chavez, Vasquez, Nelson's fights.

None of them would beat Floyd. None!

 

Pea is more of a showman. I do not disagree. Floyd is all business.
Pea clearly depends on his physcially gifts to avoid punishment. Floyd got both.

Pea is a lot like Jones. fathertime will retire them. Fighters like Bhop and Floyd got an extremely slow burning candle.
