The only point I was trying to make here was about popularity.

I agree about the confidence stuff, but don't make any conclusion with the video I just posted, it was more about the show than anything else. I don't think he'll look "too happy with himself" during the press conferences, weigh-in and the fight.

He wasnt so shot 3 months prior when he took 5 rds from Froch.

But Bute has NEVER beat an A lister. The only one who accepted his challenge KOd him.

At least Pascal has balls unlike Ward.:deal

Good points. I don't totally agree for the moving up part though. Bute was draining himself at 168 and is more a natural LHW than a SMW one. He also fought at that weight against Grachev so it won't be the first time.

This a a tough fight to call but the fan in me is pretty confident that the strange fighter we saw against Froch won't be the one in the ring on May 25th. Bute will be strong and will look as himself again.

He weighed in at 169 against Grachev. I think he was still trying to stay as close to 168 as possible. This time, he will probably just cut less water than usual at the last minute - I don't expect to see his bodyshape/mass be altered in any significant way.

I remember some of you guys told me that this was similar to GBP/Top Rank in that it was a tough fight to make.
    What changed?

And as I've been saying for ages on here,if Bute can make that extra weight count in his legs, you might find his punch resistance is much better.
And if that's the case, the late barrage I predicted from Pascal to prevent a wide points loss might not have the same effect it would at 168.
Only problem is,every puncher is going to go for broke against Bute now.I might just go and see if I can get the early prices for this fight, although I think there won't be much value for a Bute points win.
Pascal late will be more tempting in terms of value for money.

    Pascal couldn't stop Kuziemski.

    Bute's got this.

He should be getting that extra weight into his legs. They're too skinny and it's not Bute's jaw that's the problem IMO.
Yes there were scares on the journey, but look how Hearns benefitted from the extra weight. If your legs are weak or at least not what they could be,your punch resistance will suffer and it has zero to do with the chin.
Bute's problem has been recovering from big pressure. There are people who know far more about the S&C side than me but I reckon some heavy squats would do Bute no end of good.

Actually, nobody saw that one coming..

Maybe Bute's and Pascal's last performances (which were poor for both) had something to do with the decision, but, seriously, I still don't understand how everything happened so fast.. lol :think

    And what's your prediction Cloudz?

It could well be that Hopkins took that thing away from Pascal that we all seem to think Bute may have lost.

I don't know now.Torn between a late stoppage for Pacal and a 118-110 for Bute.
Only because I think Bute needs and will benefit from those extra pounds.
If I was going on recent events only I'd have Pascal throwing like Mayorga from the 10th and maybe getting lucky.

    Pascal isn't all that fast.

Bute, fighting at home, regains form and earns a UD.
