what do u mean how does this pertain to the thread question? it's pretty obvious isn't it? ali's chin was better than lewis's chin. simple stuff really. if my life was on the line i would never pick a fighter who's been knocked out on one punch. that'd be crazy.
So him getting knocked out by McCall in 1994 = Lewis in his prime 7 years later, he's still in his prime? :dead Shut up. Yes age if relative but to say that Lewis was STILL in his prime post 2000 is a joke. He was definitely slipping already at that point although still ELITE among the rest of the HW's. He was definitely out of his prime already, but not to the point of being shot.
You fail to realize that 1. Lewis wasn't knocked out by McCall (In his prime). He got up at the count of 6 and was fine and should have been given the chance to continue He got up and the ref stopped it because of corruption (Don King related) 2. Lewis is far stronger, bigger, and has more weapons in his arsenal than Ali does.
look at bernard. how long was his prime? 10 years minimum. wlads prime was post peter at seven years. rjj 10 years. manny prime 7 years. jmm prime 10 years. toney prime 10 years you dont wide UD a david tua, ko grant in 2 and dominate a holyfield while not in prime. to think that a fighter cant have a prime last seven years is pretty "******ed."
Please Lewis was already showing signs of slipping in the Tua fight and that's why it was so blatantly garbage. Lewis was much slower, less willing to throw. Lewis in his prime would have destroyed Tua. Have you watched that fight? Now I know you're trolling. Back to the troll cave you go.
I'd pick Herbie Hide and bet every penny I had on the other guy. At least my kids would have a few quid.A few phone calls and I'd probably get the exact minute of the exact round. And much as I love Ali,I still think the HW division nowadays is almost a division above where he fought.
I meant taller as in "one of the taller heavyweights." I can see how my initial statement can be read to elicit that reaction.
the only troll here is you thinking that a fighter cant have a prime last over seven years and comparing a shot ali to to lewis. and you take one fight, david tua in which lennox dominated to a comfortable win(only an idiot would try to ko tua as he had one punch power in his left hook) and use that as your basis of lewis being past prime? do you realize how dumb that sounds? limiting a fighters prime because of his age and one fight? vargas' prime was over before he hit 25. jmm looked bad agaisnt both katsidis and fedenchko but spectacular agaisnt manny. you dont watch a lot of boxing do you? now, about this troll cave youre talking about. do you live there or just hang out there on weekends? btw, lewis was a 20-1 favorite against rahman in the first fight. that doesnt sound to me like a guy past his prime as you proclaim. Muhammad ali IF they hade like a normal training camp and so on so Ali could get into the opponents head. Otherwise Lewis.
I wouldn't put my life on the line betting on Ali either. He was flawed in some areas and would have been outboxed by someone named Lewis. Maybe a mixture of Lewis/Ali. Lewis's power/boxing abilities/jab mixed Ali's chin/slickness I'd still go with Lewis's short comings over Ali's short comings.
