If The Hit man had a better chin he may have been the GOAT and I'm not trolling.

    It's not about chins here.
It's disasterous match up for Floyd.I'm not sold on the early stoppage at all,but if Floyd fans are saying that Hearns is the worst match up for Floyd,it's not an attempt to discredit him.
Not many fighters have only one guy who springs to mind as a stylistic nightmare. It's just that this is Floyd's.

I don't know, I was just genuinely wondering why you said this. I haven't seen enough of Hearns (I'm too young to have watched him when he was actually fighting) to say anything.

No you certainly are not,and I'm a big SRL fan.
If Tommy had the legs he had in the higher weights, you're looking at a completely different picture.
So easy to forget what a magnificent pure boxer he could be.

Hearns is too much of a freak at 147-154 for just about anybody to handle, not just Floyd. The combination of his physical attributes, boxing ability and power are just too ridiculous and absurd compared to most who have ever fought in the division. Whitaker wouldn't be able to do anything with him either, he outboxed Benitez with one hand, he was comfortably ahead on the cards against Leonard. It takes a special, special fighter to overcome him at this weight.

That said, I'd like Robinson to wreck him even if he'd have to overcome a KD or two. Tommy's chin could be cracked, and there is a question about his stamina even if it's somewhat unfair to call.

I have seen a few fights retrospectively and I know about him of course, but not enough to get into debates about him.

I had a career Hearns set. I'm a big PBF fan but Hearns is all wrong for him he's simply too much. people forget just how good of a boxer Hearns was. He was outboxing SRL for Christ sake.

I have been meaning to watch that fight.....I get off for Easter tomorrow, so I have two whole weeks off. I have to revise for exams but I will obviously have a lot of time, maybe I'll watch a few Hearns fights.

It would be a cat and mouse game. Mayweather would be able to make Hearns miss in spots and get off some nice counters.

But I also think those moments would be few and far between. An overly defensive Mayweather doesn't score enough to carry a decision. A guns a blazin' Mayweather (if there is one) runs into a killer right hand.

You must atleast watch Hearns big fights, Cuevas, SRL, Benitez, Duran, Hagler just to name a few.
