I don't see a diffrent result this time around. That being said there is a strong argument that Marquez is the second best right now at 147. There is always a good reason to match up the two best at a weight, even if they fought before with a one sidded result.

the first fight would have been much closer or it could have gone either way if floyd drained the 2 pounds.

Mayweather wont fight a young bonafide 154 lbs champion in Canelo.
He wont fight a fellow p4p'er who'd dehydrate himself to 160 in Ward.
He wont fight an elite middleweight champ who'd meet Mayweather halfway at 154 lbs in Sergio Martinez.

.......but yeah or yeah, Mayweather would take another fight with a 40 year old counterpuncher who does'nt hold a single physical advantage over Mayweather and who can still make the lightweight limit.

Mayweather would take another Marquez fight in a heartbeat, claiming Marquez just knocked out the number 2 guy in the world who was evading drug tests Manny Pacquiao! :nut:-(

Marquez is the second best p4p not just in the 147 division. Also it's annoying when people say Mayweather would beat Pacquiao because Mayweather beat Marquez who beat Pacquiao.

By that logic, Joe Calzaghe is better than Muhammad Ali because.

Muhammad Ali lost to Larry Holmes who lost to Evander Holyfield who lost to James Toney who lost to Roy Jones Jr who lost to Joe Calzaghe.

Non-black fighters aren't that good really.

    Rocky Marcian0 (top 4 heavyweight)
    Benny Leonard (top 8 ATG)
    Roberto Duran (top 5 atg)
    Willie Pep (top 10 ATG)
    Mickey Walker (top 15 atg)

Harry Greb and Henry Armstrong (Arguably the GOATs)
    Jimmy McClarnin (top 20)
    Canzoneri (top 25)

Alexis Arguello, Delahoya, Chavez, Canto, Saldivar, Sanchez, Tunney, etc.

If this were the biggest money fight that could be made @ 147lbs then I would agree that there should be a rematch.

That said, it isn't IMO and the first fight told us everything we need to know...

Why do people rank Andre Ward 2nd on the p4p list? I think Marquez boasts a better resume. I think theres a bias of supporting undefeated fighters rather than defeated fights.

Yes, but Juan is also quite intelligent. And he knows how to read his opponent and adapt.

He made the mistake of fighting Floyd's fight. (Floyd will do that to you.) I think he surely learned a lot from that fight, and would be a different fighter in a rematch.

However, I'd still have to put my money on Floyd to win, and since I don't want JMM to end his career with a loss, I'll be very glad if this fight never happens. (and that surely will be the case.)
