I think the fight will start off close, with floyd feeling Robert out, then once he see's how little defense Robert has he will begin to bust him up and eventually stop him or cost to a wide decision..
I get the feeling that this is going to be a tough, tough fight. It's going to be a rough one. Ghost is HUNGRY and Floyd is still as competitive as ever, in spite of all his success. Won't be easy for either one of them.
Guerrero will win a few rounds through sheer effort. He's bound to push Mayweather back and land something eye-catching every now and then, but this will only hapen a few times and will be separated by long stretches of Mayweather dominance. Guerrero is good but his only fights at anything close to this weight have been phonebooth fights against very one-dimensional fighters (Aydin, Berto). Floyd fights nothing like these guys. I'd have rather seen Guerrero face a boxer like Bradley, Alexander, Brook, etc first, because all I know about him at 147 is you won't beat him by facefirst brawling. Guerrero is going to get beaten up badly.
I don't necessarily agree if Mayweather loses it's because he's shot, that's a nice excuse the *****s have ready. While there are some parts of Guerrero's style that can give Mayweather problems, he really lacks the other areas to trouble Mayweather for 12 rounds. Hsi conditioning will be the most important thing, he needs to be able to throw 80 punches per round To the OP who said Guerrero might get a decision let's be clear. Guerrero will NEVER win a decision over Mayweather - he would have to floor him a couple of times during the fight. If it goes 12 it will go to Mayweather no matter how much we think Guerrero won. There's just too much money involved Guerrero will have to KO Mayweather to win, he has a puncher's chance but I'm not sure he has the power...he can KO by cumulation but it's very difficult to accumulate punches against the best defensive boxer in the world As I said before, first 6-8 rounds will be close - Mayweather takes control in the championship rounds - I see a 116-112 type of margin, maybe 117-111 depending on Guerrero's condition
This fight shouldn't be competative. Floyd should stop him. Based purely off the Berto fight. Guerrero is versatile, and he is good at varying the pace of the fight, but it should be easy work for Floyd. Obviously unless Floyd has slipped a lot
It's completely the other way around actually. You're just trying to make Ghost seem like a big threat so after when Floyd EASILY schools him, you can make it out to be some sort of great epic victory for Floyd. Its so ****ing clear to see. Fact of the matter is, this won't even be in Floyd's top 15 wins. Ghost is leagues, leagues, and leagues below Floyd's level. He may be mentally stronger than Ortiz, but the only thing that means is that this will look like what the Ortiz fight would have looked like had it not been for that early KO due to Ortiz' glass brain: A one sided clinic with a good chance of it ending with a TKO down the stretch. And for the people mentioning Ghosts "heart, sheer determination, and strong faith in god", **** outta here with that stupid ****. Where the **** was his "strong faith in God" when Salido and Yordan made him their *****?
easy money people don't realise he made the cotto fight exciting on purpose by engaging early rounds show he could have easily stayed on the outside and outboxed him like he did against marquez!!
great post Hatton showed great heart and sheer determination. It got him knocked out in cartoonish fashion. manny had a strong faith, but Marquez schooled him once then knocked him the **** out another time. This isn't no corny ass rocky movie where "intangibles" will fill in for a lack of skill.
Yes I have not seen the Salido fight. Two things about that though: Wasn't Salido on juice? And Floyd fights nothing like Salido.
You're one of those jackasses who thinks Floyd fought Cotto's fight by choice. Floyd's 36 years old. Age is a real thing. You just don't get it
The only thing I see Guerrero doing is landing a couple of right hooks in this fight clean but not enough to damage Floyd, this is a massive mis match and I advise anybody who is expecting to see a fight to wait until its re broadcasted on Showtime DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is a **** fight and you know it so do not do what fans do and talk this fight up you know what it is, question is do you want to wake up feeling like you just wasted 70 dollars on Sunday....
Agreed. Rocky doesn't age in his movies either. In real life, people age. Floyd is going to look less and less Floyd-like, and he knows that more than anyone else. As he said, "he's cashing out". He knows his time is about to be up. Not saying it's going to be versus Ghost, but he sure as **** won't be dominating at this level in four years time.
