Roy Jones Jr(hw) vs Prime Foreman of the 70's?

Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by FightBreakDown, Mar 22, 2013.

  1. Roy said he was much faster than Foreman.

How will Roy do at hw against Prime Foreman of the 70's? Can Foreman eventually catch him? or will Roy dance to a decision?

Roy's footspeed would build up a few points for him,but would only delay the inevitable. Once Foreman succesfully cuts the ring off,a brutal stoppage is on the cards.

Foreman by ko within six rounds.

At some point in the fight George would land a clean shot on the chin and thats all it would take..

Young had a more solid chin, and was more of a natural heavy.

Well he may have done, although Jones took flush shots from Ruiz, not quite the same I know. Still if Foreman can't land flush for 15 rounds Jones would win a decision and Jones is much faster and more skilled than Young. I wouldn't bet on Jones with Foreman's power but he has a much better shot than some give him.

Jones has the speed to run away from most all night, but I think Foreman's ability to cut off the ring may be the deciding factor here. Jones would have to be perect for 15 rounds and it's just not do able in my eyes.

Tyson of the Williams/Mcbride fight knocks Roy Jones out and early.

Foreman by an early brutal KO, if we're talking about the Roy that fought Ruiz.

The one that fought Virgil Hill was a HW in Foreman's time, that version could put up a better fight

George was a nasty piece of work during this period, give him a Soft Touch like Joe Roman and he would make no concession, but as we know would despatch him brutally, I'm afraid he might not find Roy as er..likeable as Joe...so i would expect George to be at his intimidatory best...and whatever you may think about their respective leg speed mobility..when George had wounded prey his hands were suprisingly fast and accurate
catching Norton on the way down with that uppercut being a prime example...
I know Greg Peralta mucked George about, but this was a Work-in-Progress George...
But The Foreman of Frazier ..Roman...Norton... lets just say for Roy's sake i hope
    Joey Curtis is appointed Referee..
