Do you have a logical argument based on boxing skills/physical attributes? Something Less emotional? You know an argument that someone who pees standing up would understand.

He lost to Mosley who definitely was a lesser welterweight than Hearns.

When your current champs include guys like Danny Garcia, Chad Dawson, Marco Huck, 48-year old Bernard Hopkins, Sergio Martinez, Saul Alvarez/Austin Trout, etc. a statement like that holds a lot of truth, unfortunately.

the logical argument is that floyd would never get past tommys jab and did not have a left hook to counter tommy overhand right. he wouldnt have anything to keep tommy honest.

floyd started as a featherweight whereas tommy started as a 147.

i explained this earlier but you were probably too busy reading your own posts.

perhaps you should think about standing up before you urinate.

and why is ray a better match-up?

because of the height similarity to floyd?

benitez did better against hearns than he did against ray.

Hearns is a style matchup nightmare for anyone at 147/154 lbs.

Hearns is'nt going to be outboxed at those weights. You have to be strong, aggressive and have a great chin to beat him.

Dont bring Duran into this. He was well out of prime and out of his natural weight class.
Hearns knocked out a bloated well past prime Duran.
The Duran that beat Leonard at 147 lbs, I like to knockout Hearns at that weight.
Leonard showed that Hearns was vulnerable and not as strong strenghthwise at 147 lbs if you applied the right pressure and fought him up close.

This is a no brainer, Hearns would win it. By stoppage or by decision, don't matter.

Floyd matches up better with Ray because Ray does not have Tommy's length and single punch power. Sounds like you bought the Benitez argument. I think it applies to more to Tommy than Ray. Floyd Sr. is the best analogy with Sugar Ray, and we know that Mayweather Jr. is far superior than Mayweather Sr. with styles are fairly similar. Mayweather Sr. was not easy work for Ray. He had his moments. Jr. would have more of them.

That said, I actually agree with a lot of your argument. I disagree about the left hook and this concept that Floyd has no power, but at least you brought something more than "Floyd would get destroyed because I say he's a coward." Was it hard for you to say something that makes sense? You know, earlier you were stuck on this overly emotional ***** ass ****. Now don't get offended, I'm not calling you a *****, I'm just saying you were posting like one.

where have i ever said that floyd is a coward? his list of proposed fights against maidana, alexander and angulo is garbage but that does not say he is a coward. its actually shows that he is smart because he can convince the *****s here that these are legit challenging ppv fights, which is total bull****. if he truly wanted to achieve some sort of legitimacy, he would at least fight a james kirkland on may 4. ffs, sugar ray was fighting lalaonde, hearns, duran(after his barkley win)and norris(who would murder any of the current 154's)in the twilight of his career and mid 30's.

dont have the link, but both hearns and leonard routinely laugh at the hypothetical match-up with floyd.

If Luigi Minchillo went 12 rounds with Hearns, certainly guys like Roberto Duran and Pipino Cuevas could go more than 2, right?

And if Mitch Green could go the distance with Tyson, obviously Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks could as well.
