Calzaghe is the most missed fighter on ESB.

In a Hopkins/RJJ thread Calzaghe's name pops up, in Kessler Vs Froch II thread Calzaghe name pops up, in Pablo Escobar thread Calzaghe's name pops up.

Joe fought mainly Ottke leftover's before taking on young Kessler who was inexperienced at world level and only beat him cos Kesseler faded early due to a bust paw.

 

in that case both calzaghe and kessler were inexperienced at world level - kessler's SMW resume leading upto the calzaghe fight was much better than calzaghe's

calzaghe beat kessler because he was the better man - plain and simple

EDIT : 'resume' was the wrong word. look at the quality of fighters kessler fought in the months leading up to the calzaghe fight compared to joe

 

That says a lot about Calzaghe. Although I'd say that's false. Calzaghe had a better SMW resume when they met. It's just a lot of what he had accomplished occurred when most message board posters weren't following the sport that hard.

 

Because Joe had two hands. Todays Kessler would probably beat Joe.
