Well I rely on this thread and the Bute one for most of my info on the subject, and my change of heart has come from what I've seen here, but you know both fighters better than me,and I'm not going to disregard what you've said either.
I just think Bute being the underdog would be well worth a small punt.

I hope Pascal - has a liver to deliver !
Bute = master of liver-shot extraction procedure until Froch stop him

Bute was not convincing but his opponent was by far superior to Kuziemski and be honest, before his injury, Pascal was looking awful.

It was Bute's comeback so he had some mental issues whiche could be gone. Pascal did not take his opponent seriously and was coming from an 18 months layoff. Their last fight doesn't mean much I think.

Bute has definitely taken the destruction at the hands of Froch badly. I remember seeing an interview with him at his parents' house a few days after the fight. He did indeed appear a broken man.

If you take such a hard hit psychologically, can you really ever regain the deep subconscious confidence required to beat the best?

Bute was grinding it out in the last few rounds against Grachev, trying to build his confidence up, to prove to himself he was strong psychologically, but if you have to do that, it's because something is lacking deep down.

I doubt Bute can regain that deepset confidence ever again.

If the Froch fight exposed Bute in any way, it was his relative lack of inner confidence that elite fighters must have to beat the best. If you don't have that inner confidence, you had better have a very strong will to win or an inner 'nastiness'/'craziness'. Bute is a proud man, he likes to win and be seen as the best and that has always motivated him. He managed to come back after Andrade 1 in spectacular fashion, but now, he seems to have lost something. :conf

It's going to be a dramatic fight. Pascal will land that right hand and then rough Bute up in the clinch and Bute will not like it.

If Bute fights the way he usually fights, I would be surprised if he wins. And we know he cannot change the way he fights and especially the way he reacts when hit.

Pascal is a great ambush, explosive puncher, just the kind of type that Bute hates. Bute will try to keep boxing on the outside, but Pascal will definitely get through - lesser fighters have against Bute.

So how can Bute win? Counterpunching Pascal will only get you so far. Attacking him furiously to knock him out? Pascal is a good survivor now and if he can handle Hopkins coming forward, he can definitely handle Bute. Will Pascal square up to be open for the body punch? I doubt it - I rarely see him exposed to the body.

If Pascal can handle Dawson's jab and get in and cause damage, he can handle Bute. If Pascal can handle Hopkins reasonable well, there's nothing that Bute can bring pace-wise, footwork-wise or distance-wise to surprise Pascal.

I just cannot picture Bute winning 6-7 rounds.

For me, what I am really looking forward to, is to see Bute fight back with vigour and passion under pressure. I am looking forward to see Bute being very brave as Pascal lays it on. Bute will once again prove his heart in this fight - he will have to!

If both fighters are at their best physically, I have to pick Pascal. If Bute lasts 12, I will be very happy.

PS where the Froch fight is concerned, the sad truth is that whenever I was picturing the fight, I could not see Bute dealing well with that long jab or Froch's aggressiveness, but I repressed that thought and went all wishful-thinking when analysing the fight. I lied to myself...

That was some G answer from JP, we finally have a quality fight invovling two French speakers. :hey It could give us quality Press conferences, I hope Bute will eventually step up his trash talking game for the build up!

Pascal KOed Bute with that answer. Even Bute had to admit defeat and agree with him. :good

Pascal seems more hungry for this than Bute.

Hahah Bute is more classy than Pascal at the same time and isn't keen to tarnish his reputation, he's also in the good guy's role and that probably pleases him well. :good And also Pascal is more at ease in French which can not go unnoticed.

I don't think there's a bad guy here and I don't think Pascal should play the bad guy. This is a home fight between two good guys both of whom have a lot of support amongst the public. I am convinced that 50% - 75% of the people in attendance are big fans of both fighters and even if they have a slight favourite, they will mostly just want to see a great fight.

re who is more classy, I don't think it was classy or smart of Bute to brag about how much more liked he is than Pascal. It could well be that Pascal wins the crowd over with his performance, and that, in the end, although people will feel sorry for Bute, they will cheer Pascal's victory too, just like Pascal predicted. In any case, from that one clip, Pascal seemed to be the nicer guy, not Bute.
