Phantom Punch Or Not?

It's hard to tell whether it glanced him or not. But Maxwell Smart would have been proud of the performance after the 'punch'.

I'd say it was a masterful bit of theater, yes.

Fatboy not only broke his fall with his arm, he also bent at the waste so the first thing to hit the canvas was his butt. Also, very often with a shot like that, if the opponent is standing straight up as fatboy was, you'll see his knees buckle slightly, or he'll drop his arms a bit. Neither happened. In fact, Herr Arbuckle actually brought his arms back UP before finally falling backwards.

Also, LISTEN to the punches. The previous body shots have a nice thud, so the camera's mic was picking them up well. The "KO" punch has no sound at all. I don't think it even landed.


No way that's real.

 

I'm torn here. On the other hand it baffles me how a punch from that kind of pencil neck could have any effect on the Finnish Butterbean, who btw is as though as they come.

To be honest I don't see dive? Delayed reaction and falls like a tree. you could see how he immediately tries to get up and he is fuccked up. And you think crowd would react like that if punch didn't land? immediately after punch you could see how crowd goes crazy before butterbean even falls.
