I was curious of Burley wearing the '36 Olympiad singlet. Was wondering if he was an alternate. Perused his bio on boxrec and it said something like he was supposed to be but he objected on human rights grounds or something like that. Yeah, right! If Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalf were going you'd better believe some 19 year old kid with stars in his eyes is going to follow. There's more to this story than some writers literary license in hyperdrive.

Great picture this :good - it's funny coz this one coz its from the very first round of the first fight when an over anxious Billy was side wheeling around the ring with big red bearing down on him and he kinda tripping over his own feet and fell over - the look on his face was classic in itself but the picture could also easily be mistaken for the moment of doom in the unlucky 13th round too - the OMG look on Billy's face fits the mood of that moment when he threw it all away just as much as it did the actually slip to the mat he suffered in that anxious opening round
