How did you manage to spell Muhammad Ali wrong.

Could open up a can of worms here but what about Marvin Hart?

You've included 4 other bouts for the vacant title so why not mention Hart? I know Jefferies had retired as Champion but when he came back to fight Johnson no-one considered him, as later when Frazier beat Ali, as the real champion because everyone acknowledged Hart when he was.

  8. Can you do one for the British Masters Lightmiddle title Jeff, at least 300 people have held that and I've lost track along the way.

Hart does get a tough break in history and its not helped by Jeffries coming back to fight Johnson.

Tommy Burns is also worth a mention.

    Was Burns also omitted?

That's a shame as he's another one often overlooked but shamefully so.

  11. Didn't Jim Jeffries 'award' the title to Hart?

He fought Jack Root for the vacant title.

I've read in some sources that Jefferies selected the two men but it seems inconcievable that it wasn't decided by the governing body.

    Excellent concept, with superb footage.

You will have constant debate over whether the likes of Jackson/Slavin, Hart/Root, Burns/Hart, Frazier/Ellis and Holmes/WeaverI should be there too, maybe the brothers Klitschko making way. But there is not really a right or wrong answer.

But thanks for that, it was 10 minutes well spent.

I saw it on Facebook this afternoon. I think Burns is missed out (might be wrong though!) but I think, from Jeffs point of view, the Jeffries-Jonhson-Willard lineage was easier to document than Jeffries-Hart-Burns-Johnson-Willard because of the avaliable film and still keeps the "man who beat the man" angle.
