You pretend that Kerry Hope is an awful fighter when he really isnt. Domestic level maybe but he had a really good night and Proksa had a really bad one. He avenged the result in his very next fight by stoppage at that but i guess it was convenient to ignore that. I guess its also convenient to forget his very good showing against Sylvester, dispatching the former belt holder in 3 one sided rounds. Geale has built up a nice little resume for himself dispatching Sylvester not nearly as impressively as Proksa and Sturm in less impressive fashion than what Macklin managed judges aside. Geale strikes me as a fighter that does a lot of things well but isnt outstanding in any one area, his speed is average, his power is average. Proksa may be flawed but he also does a lot of things well, decent head movement, awkward to time, speed with a little bit of power mixed in and has a very good range of punches which he releases from odd angles. Its a 50/50 matchup, i like Geale and his attitude towards ripping the belts away from the German based fighters who aim to milk the titles is nothing less than fantastic but i dont see what all the fuss is about. If he fights Soliman next it will be quite clear that he's going down the route of milking the title instead of taking on genuine challenges like GGG.
look, Proska may be better than I give him credit for, but the first time I saw him fight, he looked awful and I mean awful vs Hope. Then the next time I saw him was vs GGG.
