in addition most German youths are like Faerun of ESB. They would rather fellate the male immigrants rather then compete against them in a boxing ring...

Have anyone else noticed that every top American fighter is not a native? In fact I can't think if any at all! Is Chuncey Welliver than best actual American fighter? Probably.

If you're going to exclude fighters who are not native born or who have roots outside the country they fight in then I doubt you'd find too many countries with purely homegrown talent. Boxing attracts people from the poorer segments of society, and that generally means a high degree of participation from immigrants and ethnic minorities.

If a fighter lives or trains in a country, then they're products of that country's boxing system and boxing culture. Their birthplace or ethnic origins don't really factor into things unless you want to get into murky territory.

    Those are good points.

The only thing though is the point that they change their names.

Yeah it's nuts. They became a regular melting-pot after they stopped that whole "holocaust" thing.

That's true, though names like Marco Huck or Arthur Abraham don't exactly scream Germanness to me. Steiglitz is the only one who adopted a really German sounding name, IMO.

Mostly I think it's just because their original names were hard to pronounce/remember or simply didn't roll off the tongue that well.

    lol

Anyhow, it shows that Germany is very rewarding and supporting to those who look to participate in the sport of boxing

All this thread really shows is that Germany should be praised for its great support of the sport we love, though having a low percentage of successful native boxers at this present time....

Keep up the great work, Germany

Well Germans are good folks. They have come a long way since that time they fell under the spell of that emo kid. They wanna distance themselves from that stuff that happened so they have become warm and welcoming people.
