no only affiliated fighters rank. this is by far easier to manipulate in boxing though. at the end of the day they are only interested in who can bring in the most money for them.

This promotion having their own Title, ranks, and almost every weight class available for men and women is a good thing. I would rather things remain the way they are than to go the way of Boxing. As a promotion The UFC has done more for the Sport than any other. The Titles in The UFC and Bellator are as good as any World Titles and it wouldn't make much sense going for the Bellator Title when your UFC Champ now would it? You can't unify like in Boxing when contracts like so are involved.

One "official" World Title is not going to happen, and multiple ones won't be any different from what we have now. The UFC is where it's at and it's Gold is The most prized possesion in the Sport. Trying to undo things from the way that they are is not good for growth and let's not forget this is a business.

This all ties into the contracts fighters sign. Does everyone here perceive UFC contracts as fair for fighters?

technically there are no real world champions in any combat sport as there are various belts/organisation. If anything MMA is more clear cut than boxing as the UFC has pretty much the best fighter in each weight division as their champion. Definitely from WW up anyway imo. But I don't think you can say that the WBC, for example, has the best fighter in every boxing division as their champ. This argument is a bit dumb really.

I see what your getting at here, but, trust me when I say this, no MMA fan in their right mind would put any other welterweight in the world ahead of GSP (from inside the UFC or not)

The UFC Rankings may only consist of fighters within that organisation, yes, but the UFC probably has about 90-95% of the top talent in the MMA world.

If your a UFC champion, your a legitimate world champion, for sure.

No but I perceive the top end of boxing purses to be outlandish. Floyd Mayweather would've fought more often and against more challenging opposition if he didn't have the windfall he gets for any fight he takes.

I'm into combat sports for sport only.

Did you read Chris Camozzi's call to arms last week? Very interesting I thought.
