Pretty big if. Besides, what Boran was referring to is not Riddick learning the technique, but rather a broad assessment of most super heavyweight sized guys taking up MT.

Kickboxing on the other hand, is a different matter.

The key word in the article is 'rumored'. Thankfully this is very unlikely to happen.

Do you watch Glory/K-1 at all man? a lot of the heavyweights actually have great technique.

 

Me thinks your overstating things......I'm guessing you don't watch much MT under 70kgs where 97% of the worlds "great technique" is on display.

 

Why is kickboxing different?

 

this should be entertaining...nothing like a train wreck.

 

There are many differences, but here's a few.

It's a different sport for one. Less weapons: no clinch, no elbows & no throws etc etc which changes the whole mind set, pace, tactics and strategy to the fight. Kickboxing is more fist based as MT is much less fist based. Amount of rounds and rest time can differ. But most importantly the lack of Thais in kickboxing. In MT the Thais are always the benchmark, just their presence in the sports goes along way to ensuring the quality rises to the top and that the sport is truly international. You just don't have anything like that pedigree or presence in kickboxing, some might say well what about the Dutch? It's not even close. The only Thais you really see in the kickboxing world are well passed their best and have gained too much weight for the Thai scene or are freaks of nature too big to fight regularly in Thailand due to lack of competition at the weight.

 

Bowe won't be putting on clinic but he'll probably be taken to one afterwards.
