His time ended back when he retired the first time a few years ago. But he is the type of guy that wants to keep fighting just for the love of fight even if it puts a black dot at the end of his career. I wish him well in his retirement.
It just sucks to me that he had to resort to this. I lost respect for him. There was a reason he was still relevant despite all those amazing wars. Just sad.
There's nothing sad about it, he willingly chose to take a drug with diuretic qualities so he could make weight and collect the last big cheque of his career. I'm sure he's perfectly fine with the choice he made.
He says he's still going to fight in Mexico. Can he still do that? Is the meat excuse no longer something they're rolling with?
From what little I've read, his ban is being handed down by the USADA.....who really has no jurisdiction in State Athletic Commisions (as far as I know) much less in Mexico :think
If this had happen in mid-career I would of lost respect. But it wasn`t. I hated the idea he was coming back and I knew he wasn`t going to bring much to the table, but a great career that ended years ago. Looked all fat and worn out in his fights. His legacy still has my respect though. One of my favorite fighters.:bbb
a 36, 37 year old former bantamweight champion..."BANTAM" fighting a prime undefeated junior welterweight in his early 20's. And the thread starter is gonna call him PATHETIC? GTFO with that garbage. whats pathetic is anyone who sanctioned the mismatch
Yeah he's a disgrace to boxing and is embarrassing the Mexican community. He needs to retire from boxing.
As much as I wanted to be mad at him by using those methods, I find it hard to do so. All I see is a guy who is way past his prime and still wants to fight just for the hell of it.
Morales gets a pass, he's a shot to **** legend in the twilight of his career who was just trying to make weight. Keep in mind clenbuterol is a fat burner, not a real PED like Peterson's testosterone pellets for example. Now that's a real disgrace, moreso if you consider PEDerson is a young fighter in his prime, and he still was allowed to keep his last ¨W¨ and belt, while Morales will be ¨banned¨ for two years. wtf with these double standards?
