Agree, but it is going to be interesting whether Shaw develops Geale or shin-ties him fighting finacially viable locals.

Shaw has been in boxing for a long long time, If he honestly thought Geale could go and conquer the states he would have had him fighting there.

Do you think Geale won't fight in the US, even though he's been to Germany twice?

So you don't think Gary Shaw will take Geale to the States?

He might not have to. Not a yank here so far.

I think Geale will willingly fight anywhere, he is that kind of character. If he comes to the states the likelihood is that it will be on HBO who are invested heavily in the middleweight scene at the minute. In my opinion the plan is to match 2 from Geale-Macklin-Golovkin and i reckon they are looking to make that happen later in the year. Rule out JJCC and Martinez, Matinez gets by Murray and that rematch is happening this year.

It was a rhetorical question for Whipsy the **** stirrer.

    I know he'll fight anywhere.

My point was, he doesn't (or at least up until this stage) think that Geale is ready for the mega fighters. No hating or **** stirring here.

There's probably a fair bit of truth to that.

Up until a few fights ago, most of us probably thought that.

I reckon he's been taken along perfectly.
He's 32, yet to hit his peak, hasn't been thrown in the deep end to get busted up and ruined, and has 2 genuine belts with 30 fights.

A quick scan of Boxrecs top 10 pound 4 pound, shows most of the current fighters aged over 35 with more than 40 fights.
Most are all still at their peak, maybe a frag past it.

Geale has at least 5 years of good solid fight in him, and perhaps a few more left over fights.

It seems to be going to a well thought out plan to me.

I believe we are watching prime Daniel Geale right now. In saying that, I don't think its all down hill from here. But I think in years to come we'll look back at the years 2012 - 2014, and see them as his best.

Sox, sorry to correct you but Geale only has one belt atm. He gave up the other one to fight Mundine.
