This is boxing you're going to get hit. Broner had no respect for Rees power and walked through him it was part of his game plan going in. Both Rees and Paulie are better and more proven than Selimov period.
The likes of Vivian Harris, Carlos Maussa and Baldomir become titleholders. James Toney holds some title right now. Whoopty ****ing do. The pro game is about manoeuvring, paying fees and promoting. Broner is doing a good job of that, but he hasn't proven his skills against top opponents yet. I like Broner, don't get me wrong. But he is a prospect. Rigo has only had 11 pro fights and he's lining up against one of the p4p best while Broner is fighting Malignaggi. Broner is a prospect who hasn't stepped up yet.
Rigo has had ONLY 11 fights. Lomanchenko has had ZERO. And what if Rigongeaux gets KO'd? Then guy has been out down by guys that arent even top 20 fighters. There have been a tonne of top class amateurs who couldnt cut it at pro level. Theres a tonne of guys who had practically no amateur experience who because superstars at pro. Lomanchecko,as of now, has done NOTHING as a pro.
Broner, as of now, has done NOTHING as an amateur or a pro. 2 Olympic gold medals for your country, 3 World Championships vs super feather paper title earned against PDL (many thought he lost), and lightweight title against DeMarco (his only win worth bragging about) that he defended against Gavin Rees. You would seriously take that over two olympic golds?
Broner stepped up when he fought PDL years ago. The guy isn't a prospect. Prospects aren't world title holders. A prospect is untested and doesn't have a major title. Also prospects aren't ranked in the top 10 P4P list. Garry Russell Jr. is a prospect Broner isn't.:deal
Broners record as a pro 26(22)-0. WBO Super featheight title holder,WBC lightweight title holder. Lomanchenkos record as a pro 0-0....I think Broners done a little more
Don't even compare Loma, this over hyped amateur who hasn't proven **** as a pro to a P4P talent like Broner.
These guys are too much. I can see being excited about a talented am turning pro but to bash an accomplished proven pro to further an agenda is ridiculous. Broner>Loma period end of discussion.
I damn sure would? How much money has Loma made? How many people other than die hard boxing fans even know him? You damn right I'd take two championships in two weight classes going for a third championship over two gold medals.
All you have to do is look at Lomachenko's two WSB fights. He won both easily of course, but to me (and anyone else with vision) it wasn't outright dominance. He didn't make either guy look completely out of their league, which is what you'd expect someone who hasn't even fought a single pro fight, but gets compared to a relatively seasoned pro to do...
Anybody can have a title in this day and age, it means nothing unless you unify a division or are unanimously seen as the guy to beat. PDL isn't exactly a world beater and if anything Broner has stepped back down since then after escaping with a narrow, debatable win. If Broner wasn't a prospect he wouldn't be fighting someone like Malignaggi and he wouldn't have just fought Gavin Rees. I find him entertaining and I like his style but the only time you could say he looked the goods is against DeMarco. He's still a big question mark.
How do you win easily, winning every round without getting touched and score knockdowns without being dominant? Obviously he was also getting used to fighting 5 rounds without headgear for the first time, against far better opposition than you face in your first 15 pro fights of your career, while his opponents were trying to survive and hold on. He was pacing himself and taking his time. YDKSAB.
The Cubans and Russians that Lomachenko has been dominant against over the years are all professionals in every sense of the word, all they do is box full time and get paid by their government.
