    wow real experts needed for that.

    I think the 3 obvious era's to look at would be among the first great Boxing champions like Sullivan, Jefferies, Johnson, Dempsey, then jumping into Joe Loius' reign, then the famous 70s HWs.

    In ALL these times, which fighters were the most Feared, Avoided & Cheated fighters, there not only lies the answers but also you can add quite a few other respected names to the lists among the Greats!

    names like the affore mentioned Jackson or McVey and names that already get some good credit. But what about names like Rosco Toles, Hatchetman Sheppard, Bert Whitehurst, Zora Foley, Jimmy Ellis and Ike & Jeremy Williams(?).

    I mean there must be dozens of names particularily from the periods I've mentioned, and namely Louis time that are just great and undeservingly lost fighters.

    Jimmy Ellis gets about as minimal respect as anyone. And the guy had fought a who's who of fighters before even venturing up to heavy.

    Roy Jones Jr, maybe. He's given almost zero respect at heavy, while given the right stylistic matchup, there's plenty he could potentially upset.
