Garbage. The OP is talking about ethnic Germans and pointing out, correctly, that top tier 'German' boxers are not ethnic Germans - does that matter? Maybe it highlights the frailty of boxing within Germany and inadequate resources for nurturing young talent, hence the best German national boxers have been 'imported'. But that's all by the by.

    America is nothing like Europe.

Next thing you'll tell me most Canadian fighters weren't born there either. Or that England's greatest living fighter was really a Jamaican guy from Canada.

Not all white people and ethnicities look the same.

Golovkin is ethnic Russian, the other two aren't - I think Kosta's mixed Mongolian & Russian.

The thing about Russia is that it is literally a federation of smaller republics with a large number of different ethnic groups. The dominant group are Russians and they hold political power - but there's others: Chechans, Bashkirs, Komi etc. Some are European and look and some aren't (Turks / east Asian etc).

Just looked up Provodnikov and he's Mansi.

    get you facts right
Stieglitz was already a man and was already boxing. The reason he went to Germany is to box there.
again get your facts right. and blacks are not real americans in my eyes, neiter are whites, native americans are the real americans.

Yes, Provodnikov looks more like a Mongol or a Kazakh. And sometimes it's the other way around, Chagaev looks more like a Russian than an Ouzbek or even that Kazakh amateur Ditchko who either looks Ukrainian or Russian etc

Interesting. What's a 'real' American as opposed to a fake one?

Luckily the criteria for being an American doesn't have to be verified by you.

That's because Chagaev isn't an Uzbek - he's an ethnic Tartar.

As I said above, central Asia has a large European population - Germans, Russians, Tartars, Poles etc. Kazakhstan is 25%-30% ethnic Russian. Uzbekistan also has a sizable Russian & Tartar population.

    Provodnikov is an ethnic Mansi.

:think Most of their best talents are foreign-born, even if they're "homegrown" in terms of basing themselves in Germany long-term and using German coaches.

    YPH - Cuban.
    Stieglitz - Russian
    Abraham/Murat/Graf - Armenian
    Aydin/Arslan - Turkish
    Culcay - Ecuadorian
Huck/Krasniqi/Sturm - Serb/Bosniak (Sturm was born in Germany but is ethnically 100% non-German, I believe)
    Charr - Lebanese
    Dimitrenko - Ukrainian
    Airich/Gerber/Sartison/Tajbert - Kazakh

...except for Sturm, all born outside Germany.

I guess recently for native-born world-class boxers they've had the Sebastians (Zbik and Sylvester), Marcus Beyer, and Jürgen Brähmer - all sort of mediocre by world class standards. :conf Then guys who fall a bit short of even that, like Henry Weber and Dominick Britsch.

They do have a nice prospect in Uensal Arik but I somehow doubt he is full-blooded kraut or that he was even born there. :think

Their most brightly shining hope is probably Dustin Dirks, or Robert Woge. :!: Hardly inspirational.

    What else, Mike Wallisch?

Point is pretty simple - there's a difference between a German national and an ethnic German. The OP is talking about ethnic Germans.

Germany has become the mecca of boxing for non-English speaking Europeans. Lots of east-euros especially figure that they have a better chance at success if they become German based.
