How good is Chelo? I've heard of him but never seen him fight.

seems like Burns turned down the Broner fight again lol at pitythefool defending this *****

Hearn said that he had received an approach from Broner's promoters Golden Boy last week about a possible title unification fight.

Softer than Broner with just good enough of a record to energize the Brittards. Just like they think superior fighters avoided the slap master, here come the "Broner is ducking" threads.

Caveat: I will gladly eat my words IF Burns accepts a Broner fight after this bout.

Who are you to call a world champion boxer a *****? Shouldn't you be in school right now?

Fair enough Jeff, but I think you're being a bit harsh here. I don't think any of Ricky's fans are happy about this fight, we all wanted the Vasquez,Broner and Abril fights. Ricky has just signed with Matchroom, and this is just a keep busy fight to get the ball rolling, hopefully we get Burns v Vasquez/Broner at the end of the year. Contrary to popular belief, we don't get all excited over a shiny undefeated record :good

Let's see how many respected posters on this forum laugh at me for defending Burns.

Then let's see how many of them agree you're in the top 2% of worst posters on the whole forum.

And that's actually a better opponent than I expected.

And I'm confident you have the good sense to realise that Burns is down a lot of money at the moment after a wasted year and two cancelled fights.
There's hefty bills to be paid and a very winnable home fight was always on the cards after the switch Jeff.
Don't get yourself lumped in with some of the biggest joke posters on the forum mate.
    You're way better than that.

Please keep in mind I don't consider you or Pity to be "Brittards." But you have to know some of your fellow countrymen don't represent you too well.

Hopefully you don't consider me as a strictly homer American. I know we have some obnoxious posters as well.

That's why I threw in the caveat. I'll gladly eat my words.

Please see the above post. There's a difference between a Brittard and a good poster who is from Britain. I consider you the latter, but can't deny the presence of the former.

You must have been typing at the same time mate.
I'm not in any doubt as to your position for the vast majority Jeff, but a Broner fight was never an option in a million years here.
There are probably posters on this thread who have a better car than Ricky, his ex promoter has withheld a large sum and I doubt the taxman will be giving Ricky a pass.
The Ghanian teak tough industry will go into meltdown if FWP goes to the shitter, and this is a better fight than I thought we'd get.

Let's just hope it happens in the fall and all of this nonsense can come to its logical conclusion.

Oh I understand, and of course not, I always respect your opinion, unlike PrinceN

To be fair, Adrien Broner has been looking to make this fight for a while, and if the fight doesn't happen, we can safely say that the fault falls entirely on Ricky Burns and his team, and I say that as a big fan of Ricky.

    :lol::lol::rofl
