Price had to do it.Even if he went on to win a world title, that defeat would have eaten him up had he not put it right.Huge risk though, major bulls from Price.

So, by your logic Wladimir "is just glass" too because he's been down a few times? Interesting. ..

Wlad has not a good chin yes! But not that bad like Price He was KOed by very good punchers (for example Brewster and Sanders) or was gassed out against Puritty and then had to be pulled out. (was not down at the end). Also he was not KOed in th amateurs (wich happens not very often) and never was Koed by such a weak punch from TT. Wladimir has great skills to protect his chin. Price has them not! Also he is too old to really change his style in order to protect his glass chin.
Price is not going to be a World Champion. And an old left over from Wladimir could end the boxing career of Price wich is already not a good sign.
Price is a good dude. But he really is not a great boxer . I said it many times that he will get KOed soon. Although I did not thought that an out of shape TT would do it.

Heavyweight Boxing. Price could be two punches from his world title ambitions being pretty much smashed to bits and ended if Thompson lands another punch like he did in February.

Price deserves credit for being a warrior and wanting to get right back in there. Risky move but if he wins it does him world of good. Gets it off his back and allows him to attack rest of 2013.

I think this a silly, dangerous move.

Or 'ballsy' if you have your blinkers on.

Khan didn't need to rematch Prescott to move onto World titles.

Price didn't have Thompson in any kind of trouble in the first fight (if you watch it on mute without the braying scouse football fans & Boxnation's biased commentary) and it just looked a matter of time before The Tiger counterpunched him.

None of us though - even those who had taken the time to see Price's fragile punch resistance in the amateurs - thought he would go to such a light clip.

I think the result will be the same, just later in the fight this time.

Far too risky a move for Price IMO without a trainer and/or stylistic change :good:

Perhaps there is no rematch, not yet anyway...

I agree Max, I never felt Thompson was in any danger he seemed calm and collected and set the punch up well.

This is a extremely tough obstacle mentally for him. Thompson unless he goes silly will fancy sitting back and allowing another opening to come and just clip him again.

THIS... it was a lucky shot, in that it burst the ear or whatever the _uck happened to his ear, which of course is your balance and ended up a tough break for Price.

if TT got any respect for himself he might show up in shape and try to continue to lift his career, but it's this fans opinion he's got little to no chance!

Not sure what to make of that. Maloney released an official press release and newspapers have already wrote up stories about it. I'm more inclined to take their word for it than some no-mark website which claims it has quotes. If Thompson really hasn't agreed though then what an epic **** up this is.

Very brave from Price- he should win but Thompson might actually look like he trained this time. It's an intriguing fight.

Agree, I thought it was worth posting though.

  12. Agreed, look at khan, he went on and done well after prescott but the haters and the critics stayed with him, best to tackle it head on, risky tho!

Haye was stopped by Thompson (a different one) never had a rematch and never did him any harm.

Khan was/is a cocky bollocks that's why he got / still gets shite...

I'm surprised Price is getting straight back in with Thompson. Thought he'd be better taking a confidence boosting fight first.
