Why should haye get a shot at vitali?

Haye's fight against Wlad was a unification fight. Haye was WBA World Champion. Sure, his opposition might not have been the best to get that title and in his defenses but he was still World Champion. Claiming then that he didn't earn his shot against Wlad when he was bringing a World Title to the table himself is absurb.

I agree, however, that he should have fought some ranked opposition to put pressure on Vitali to make the fight rather than just falling into retirement and start shouting about wanting one. But, if he got the shot he woud be easilly in list the best five fighters Vitali had ever fought - with Lewis, Sanders, Byrd and Peter - and it is a fight that would create significant interest and be a big payday for both men and have the potential to be a good fight.

 

And on the back of being WBA World Champion and bringing a title to a unification fight. But sure, lets just ignore that fact and focus entirely on the trash-talking and hype.

 

Oh yes, the highly prized WBA trinket that the Russian mommy was hiding whilst refusing to fight either of the Klitschko's. That is the one.

At least boxing fans know who David haye is. Charr got the shot and turned up at the haye vs chisora press conference and they didn't even know who he was!!!

 

If he gets a shot he should earn it just like anyone else. Its a farce if he comes straight out of retirement and gets a shot just because he went on im a celebrity and got famous.

 

Is the WBA rescognized and accepted as one of the major organizations of world Boxing? Is the WBA title recognized as a legitimate World Title with some prestege, history and worth? Yes to both. Doesn't matter if the WBA Title isn't considered to have the worth of the Titles that Wlad held, it was still one of the titles that carried significant weight in world boxing. Having that title gave Haye all the legitimacy in the world to call out the Heavyweight King and challenge him for his titles while putting his own on the line.

 

Who should get a shot ahead of him? What did Chisora do to deserve his shot?

I'm assuming when he holds the wbc belt he'll use it as leverage to force a rematch with wlad.

All about the millions. If he becomes only the second man to unify the cw and hw division in the meantime, that's a healthy bonus.
