Bute's a moron. Hair implant would get his confidence back up and then some. He had the time to do it, too. Just imagine Bute with Leonardo Di Caprio's hair coming in the ring on the Titanic theme song (which is also the canadian national anthem unless im wrong). Pascal would **** himself. :yep

Pascal seems healthier than Bute. Or the last just lost the previous night? He avoided as musch as possible to look in Pascal`s eyes.I didn`t like it. With this attitude the fight is lost already.

Bute mentioned his confidence had taken a big knock after Froch and that even now he is not as confident as he needs to be, but that his confidence is growing...

...worrying, but at least he keeps it real!

It looks like a psychologist thing. First, you admit what's happening to you in order to rebuild yourself.

Not sure it will work: the fight is in 2 months. :scaredas:

My position on this fight is simple: if Bute is confident, he wins easily. If not, he's dead.

Bute puts things to heart. He is a sensitive man. He may never recover

Even if Bute was an unbeaten fighter brimming with confidence, no way would he beat someone like Pascal easily, in my view, because of the clash of styles. You yourself say: if not, he's dead - well, he wouldn't get destroyed just because his confidence is not 100%, would he? There's more than that going on - Pascal has the tools and the game to beat any version of Bute, no doubt about it.

I am repeating myself but I just hope they both put in a very good performance on the night and that there are no controversies where refereeing or judging is concerned and that a neutral fan will think the high ticket price was worth it! I hope you guys won't be too disappointed or down on Bute if Bute gets destroyed mid-rounds again. Most people think it will happen!:good

Another thing - they all want a rematch already. Why? For the money. Bute for the rematch to happen, Bute needs to win or it needs to be close on the cards. If Pascal destroys him, why have a rematch?

Unfortunately this is a factor that cannot be discounted. Bute may get a helping hand here, because the stakes are too great for the rematch not to happen.

Hope this doesn't happen. They need to get in an American referee and judges who have no ties to Canadian boxing or Canadian promoters. Why would they do this though? They won't!...

The thing that worries me most is not that Bute gets KOed in a few rounds but that the fight might not be fairly refereed and judged...

Bute's confidence is the only matter for me in this fight. If he's confident, he'll move well around the ring, making Pascal miss. Pascal is a great athlete (he was a tremendous hockey player while he was a kid) who didn't take boxing as seriously as he could have. That's why he has so many technical flaws. He's fast but his footwork is not accurate. His punches are not straight and he often swings for the home run. His balance is not good either. Pascal has many technical flaws on which Bute can build. Bute is a counterpuncher. It's easy to see Pascal swing large, be unbalanced and receive some counters in the process.

Bute is accurate, hits strong, has a solid footwork. All these ingredients give lots of problems to Pascal.

If Bute is confident, he'll move a lot at the beginning of the fight, will make Pascal lose a lot of energy and will start connecting more and more as Pascal begins to gas.

BUT: if Bute is not confident, he will freeze on the ropes, won't be able to avoid Pascal's punches (Bute has always been good to move away from punches but you have to be relax to be able to do it) and will lose the fight, because Pascal is a real warrior and he will give all he's got to win.

For the moment, I'm not confident Bute is confident, except for a clip from his trainer who said that Bute was different, that everyone of his punches in training were meant to hurt. If Bute is like a hurt animal, he could be very dangerous. If he's scared, well, how do you want to win a boxing fight if you're scared, right?

Boxing fans often give too much attention to the mental side of a fight but in this case, I think it's true.
