Chavez isn't even on the same tier of relevance as the rest of them.

Back to Latin Fury PPV for him; with the remainder of his career spent feasting on bums for all I care. He doesn't belong in big events against elites, or deserve the corresponding paychecks.

Again, people seem to be missing the obvious: it's perfectly acceptable for someone to order this PPV for the right reasons. If someone deems Erdei vs. Grachev & Rodriguez vs. Maderna worth $25 (with Golovkin vs. Ishida as more of a thrown-in afterthought) then it's their prerogative. I may not consider that a value myself, but I can see where someone would.

Nobody with any boxing savvy is going to buy or not buy this on the sole basis of the advertised headlining act. If someone buys the PPV strictly because of Golovkin's name on the marquee while not even knowing who the light heavyweights are (ahem, OP) - yeah, they're a ****ing rube.

Brief overview:

1. Fought at domestic level in Japan for several years, journeyman.
2. Fought and beat C+ Venezuelan ham-and-egger Marco Avendano twice, first in an eliminator neither really deserved with both coming off rather unremarkable winning streaks and then for the interim WBA light middleweight title.
3. Defended successfully once against 19-9-1 chinny Colombian banger Oney Valdez.
4. Dropped the belt via robbery against Rigoberto "Canelo's shitty brother" Alvarez...clearly out-boxing him for the most part but getting walked down with sloppy pressure and getting on his bike enough for the judges to reward the ineffective aggression of Rigo, who did buzz Ishida a few times in fairness.
5. Was supposed to have been fed to a freshly paroled James Kirkland in what had been conceived to be Kirkland's third consecutive KO victory to build confidence in his comeback. Instead he caught the poorly trained and under-prepared Kirkland cold and scored multiple knockdowns in a shocking KO1.
6. Reaped the benefit of his new high profile by landing a Showtime main event with Paul Williams. Got shut out.
7. Cashed in on his fifteen minutes of fame as the sand rapidly pooled at the bottom of the hourglass by challenging Dmitry Pirog for the WBO title...coming directly off the one-sided loss to Williams, somehow. Lost very clearly once more, but made Pirog look human. (though no more than Maciel)
8. Lamb to slaughter against Golovkin.

He's tall and lanky with so-so pop (mostly feathery but he can occasionally surprise opponents), so-so chin (mostly holds up but he can definitely be shaken and has that long neck), and a very high work rate (but not insane like a Williams') consisting of mostly slaps.
