10-5, 9-6ish for Hagler. I really like this fight of Duran's. He's a blown up, aging Lightweight giving one of the greatest Middleweights ever a good fight. Duran did it with a lot of feints and traps and voodoo. Great performance. Not one of Marv's better efforts for me, but this was just after Duran brutalized Davey Moore and some of the damage was questioned (thumbs). I think Marv was a little overly cautious and I think Duran got his respect with a couple right hands early.

Duran scored with the more effective blows, that's why i had him beating Hagler....and made Hagler miss a bunch. Hagler looked like crap and took heat from the press

besides that, Duran seemed not to notice the blows that landed except for one in the sixth, to the temple

I, and millions of Hagler fans, thought a middleweight would bully the blown up lightweight and could see that Hagler wasnt going to come close to a tko win. everyone was shocked that it went 15, no knockdowns even

Makes u wonder how hard Duran really hits becuz he managed to close Hagler's eye N cut him pretty good which puts him in the same league as Mugabi, Hearns, N Roldan

Duran was the first marquee fighter to come out against Hagler, no questions asked, & no excuses/delays/hurt baby pinkies

Sugar Ray surprisingly followed suit with an abrupt change of heart (until Kevin Howard quickly made the #2 p4p fighter of all time, see the light )

Hearns? he didnt do so well but I thought realistically he should have fared best of all

I only tend to score fights if i feel they need it after an inital viewing.

This was never a fight that needed scoring.

    come at me

10-5 for Hagler. Don't know what the official judges were smoking, that fight was only closeish through 10 rounds, Hagler really separated after the back third.

Competent, sound performance from Duran, who didn't really have what he needed to win the fight, but gave what he could to make it extremely uncomfortable for the champion. Shows off both fighters skills, I like to watch it.

Well Duran lost regardless who picked him to win or lose and what we expected. Duran was great and if anyone gave him a chance to win he would take it. Hearns was not going to give Duran a counterpunching fight and to sit back. Tommy pressed Duran and test his chin often and early. That is what guys should do with Duran if they are great, but to be fair how many guys punch as hard as Thomas Hearns? I never held the loss against Hearns against Duran, but I do think Duran getting credit for losing to Hagler is a bit ridiculous.

I don't think it matters who thought Duran would win. He didn't win, and the fact Hagler fought so terribly is because he was getting hit easily with the right hand thinking he could counterpunch with Duran-going under the assumption that Duran would be more aggressive. And Duran sat back and counterpunched with Hagler and landed his right hand, more like a jab irritation than a risk of hurting Hagler. Duran gets more credit for losing to Hagler than Hearns or Benitez got for beating Duran, and that was one division below this. This fight was not close and all Hagler had to do was up his activity in the last few rounds and win the fight.

Ray knew that even retired for 2 years, he could easily outbox Duran if Duran beat Hagler. The biggest thing to come out of Duran/Hagler was when Duran told Ray you will beat him when he was coming out of the ring.

All 3 fights were so different it is hard to judge. Hagler fought the fight of his life for Hearns and that was the right style, although Marvin was never the same after Hearns.
