About to start on some Monzon fights, any suggestions of which ones to watch? I'm putting on the first Bevenuti fight now.

Second fight with Briscoe is Monzon's best filmed performance.

Parlov was nothing too special really.Just big, awkward spoiler and crafty in an amatuer stylist sort of way.

He'd be tough to beat or look good against for better fighters that were going through bad patches, faded etc , but i can't see him doing much against many very good to great light heavies at or near their best.

Big guy and probably drained after a few years making 175, he was pretty finished after MArvin Johnson just charged through him.

Yeah big and f'n awkward just because he was so gawky and experienced and always flicked that jab out.

Not brilliant, but another very good fighter from that era. I rate him enough, probably like lora does in a horribly effective hard to look good against type.

**** me Davey Moore was a powerhouse. Like a better version of Shane Mosley. Going to South Africa and openly trading with Charlie Weir, a banger in his own right, was very impressive. Moore showed no regard for what was coming back at him and had the better of it all the way. The final right to end it was a nuke.

Moore would merc Margarito and I respect Duran's win over Moore more than ever, and I rated it before.

Why Ayala gets the hype and Moore doesn't I'll never know, he would've flattened Ayala inside a round.

Because Ayala had the fortune to not be thrown in with Duran.

Featherweight of course. But big Davey Moore was class and not thrown in too early with Duran without the benefit of hindsight. We've seen Duran's career progression, if that happened today we'd likely pick Moore to outwork Duran.

A relatively low number of pro' bouts but had faced some stellar competition already and had a long, storied amateur career when that actually meant something in terms of turning over.

Dominick Guinn vs Michael Grant , 4 at least d 2nd time. Guinn fought well, was aggressive and physical, albeit clean. Grant did connect flush 1 or 2 times and hurt/wobbled Guinn whom recovered quite quickly.
Pity 4 him that he fought really stupid vs James Toney. Maybe he was overawed by Toney's per4mance vs shot Holyfield.

Well there isn't much of featherweight Moore going around, but every time I've watched him I've been impressed. Very quick fighter, people would be going mental if he was about today.

Have you seen Ji-Won Kim in action yet, Flea?

His style is easy on the eye - lefty, fast hands, wings his shots a bit, some athletic ability, pretty average defense.

Ji-Won Kim vs Rudy Casicas/Bobby Berna - mutual knockdowns, good knockouts - fun little fights.

    Resume - Loi > Calzaghe.
H2H - not enough Loi footage.

    Happy birthday, Flea.

Just watched Flea's Laguna - Ramos. What a great fight, I found it really hard to score with so much happening and so many swings in each rd. Anyway I had it 77-75 Ramos up until the end of the 8th.
