    Punching power.
    Iron beard.
    Incredible stamina. His ability to cut off the ring is underrated.

    Rocky had an iron will that allowed him to do what it takes in order to win. Most guys can’t give 100% when things aren't going their way.

    They lose confidence, play it safe, take the easy way out and decrease their chances to win, etc… This never happened to Rocky. The Iron Will combined with natural punching power, great stamina, stamina and well suited style allowed Rocky to overachieve and overcome.

    People who say Marciano overachieved are dismissing his great natural gifts of power, stamina and durability. These are every bit as significant gifts as speed or agility. And in the combination which he possessed them, they created a monster.

    A monster with a giant, giant head and tiny arms.

    I don't know that his stamina was just "natural" he had to work like a demon to get that kind of conditioning and the ability to endure.

    There really is no such thing as an overachiever. Rocky took his ability to his limit though. He got the most out of it.

    That he was awkward to read and had exceptional accuracy. There was no sequence to follow, he knew what he was doing but you couldn't second guess him. At top level if you take a fighters ability to read an opponent away then he will be getting hit a whole lot more. This ability also allowed Rocky to draw better skilled fighters into the range that suited him. As well as being so strong it was hard to make marciano pay when he missed because if he missed you he followed through with another part of his body and the opening was gone.
