...and gets a bad wrap from some bitter fan boys. (Andy Lee supporters don't like him because of his "fluke" TKO sullying Lee's previously unspoiled record; and backers of Sergio Mora - which apparently exist :blood - will go blue in the face telling you Mora got robbed against him, twice. He didn't. Vera beat him fair and square both times.

    (RBR's don't lie...)

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree - especially coming off Vera's pounding of Dzyna. (even though Dzyna had looked horrible in his two previous middleweight ventures, and borderline shot against Gonzalez)

Stranger things have certainly happened in boxing, though. :conf

Bondorovas is limited and light-hitting, but he is tough and was a member of Lithuania's national amateur team FWIW. :conf

IMO - and I know lots of people still feel passionately even after multiple viewings that one or both were robberies - even though Mora did make him miss a lot, the overwhelming advantage in activity on Vera's part and ****-poor ethic from Mora (not to mention the relative worthlessness of most of his pit-pat offerings) left very little doubt who deserved the majority of rounds either time.

We could probably argue those until the cows come home. (and the funny part is, I'm usually among the first to discount ineffective aggression & volume in favor of higher-% clean effective punching, as in the Abril vs. Rios travesty, but simply don't see this as comparable)

There isn't really any need, however. I'm not ever going to be convinced Mora deserved either one, and those who feel he did aren't going to convert into accepting the official results.

We can agree to disagree. :good

I saw that cause it wasn't recording, Vera is a guy I would have put on the Canelo-Trout card for a cheaper local guy, I'm a fan if he was fighting GGG tomorrow I would buy for sure, it's cool to have it on real espn in primetime

Say what you will about him, Vera is a more legit world MW title challenger for Golovkin than Ishida. :nod

Brian Vera is very fun to watch, he always comes to fight, i hope he gets a big fight after that..maybe against Chavez Jr or Golovkin, would be interesting. Anyway, i think you guys should pay attention at the opening bout. Jackson Junior is considered the most talented brazilian fighter right now, I know..that doesn´t mean much because of weak the brazilian scene is nowdays and Savigne is definitely his toughest test but i do believe he make some noise at the light heavyweight division. I would say he is my second favorite fighter to watch at the division...right after Sergey Kovalev, who is monster and i think will be a world champion soon.

Take a look at the 6th pro fight of Jackson Junior against his long time rival and fellow prospect Marcus Vinicius de Oliveira (23-1-1, 21ko). He improved sinse that fight but i would say he still has some flaws on defense. I believe Savigne is more skilled than him, although Jackson has a better chin and power. I believe Junior will won by knockout after a complicated start.

I also didn't feel that Mora was egregiously wronged against Mosley.

I don't remember my RBR scoring, but it was such a complete mess where both were ineffective enough in achieving success in anything resembling boxing that I thought a draw was fair...and that it would've also been a fair and deserved rude awakening for Mosley had Mora edged it. Denkin having it 116-112 for Mosley is a bit dubious, but people act like that (as well as Vera vs. Mora I & II) somehow warrants mention along with ATG robberies like Abril vs. Rios, Casamayor vs. Santa Cruz, Holyfield vs. Lewis I, Martinez vs. Cintron, etc.

Not even close. :bart I'm perfectly happy with all three results on paper (and honestly can't see Vera vs. Mora I or II even being draws, let alone scored for Mora)

...and yes I hate Mora and his stomach churning style, but that doesn't mean I can't objectively score his bouts. I acknowledge that he legitimately beat Vernon Forrest the first time when the Viper took him lightly.

I remember when i watched The Contender, Sergio Mora was my favorite fighter there hahaha the fights on that show where edited to be like..one minute by round. So it looked like for example at the Ishe Smith fight that he was i kinda slick guy, who had alot combinations, etc. But then i started watched his fights after the show...and yeah, his not slick, he is just really awnkard and his fights were often boring ahahha So, i understand the hate against him although i think despite his boring style he is not a bad fighter.
