Nature of journalism is to bring issues into the mainstream. A good story never gets in the way of truthful reporting. It make come to light or be buried, who knows but it does make you think. This whole debate has been going on too long like a soap opera.

The sport is tainted to a certain degree, a few fighters getting caught but other fighters will go under the radar. The boxers who are genuinely clean are the one's who I feel for.

Hardly a hack is Hauser. The whole PBF V Manny fans talking **** to one another is pathetic, get over it. The fight is gone but I do believe PBF doped & same with Manny, that's my opinion, cest la vie.

It's the WHO that was most eyebrow raising to me. Hauser is one of the last guys who needs to spin a horse**** story to gain more attention. Anybody who follows the sport knows he's Muhammad Ali's primary biographer, is the Chairman of the BWAA membership committee, garnered several different accolades, etc and is presumably fairly well off as a result. He's also getting up in age and has to know just who he's dealing with talking dirty about GBP/Mayweather. Then again, I'm not a regular reader of his columns, don't know anything about his history with Floyd (if there is any).

I enjoy his stuff. A lot of his work is probably too long a read for those who don't care to take the time, but he is a quality writer.

If Manny requested testing during their first round of negotiations and Floyd declined, we would have a full reversal of form here .....

*****s would be saying that Floyd is not required to take the test

*******s would be saying Floyd is ducking the test he is ducking Pac and is a steroid cheat....

    Divi253,

Manny initially wanted a 21-24 day cut off, and Floyd said no, and demanded a 14 day cut off. In the end Manny agreed, but then it was the purse split that was the hold up.

What do you mean, how someone thinks that's a response that will be accepted is beyond me?

    What were Manny's options?

    1. Just say yes to everything and put Floyd in the driving seat, even though the Mayweather's had publicly slandered him.

    2. Stand firm and say "I'm not taking anything, and I refuse to be tested in anyway!"

    3. Try and negotiate to make the fight.

Manny knew that Floyd was never ever going to back down. Floyd was never going to say "ok forget everything, let's just fight."

Option 1 was never going to happen, and we know that Manny took the Mayweather's to court.

So his options were 2 or 3.

He wanted the fight, so he chose 3, but again it still wasn't enough.

come on even if it was post negotiation. Many things are resolved post negotiation - missed weight, arrest, act of nature etc.

Again, if B-hop really wanted to he could have said yes.

To use the "disrespect" defense to say 'no" is just silly in pro boxing. That is like asking for a foul for trash talking in the NBA.

Point is, B-Hop is not interested in making some stand on drug testing. And by definition of many PBF defenders you are automatically guilty by suspicion.

Regarding getting a pass - you are damn right McGuire, Sosa, Jones, all got a pass during their performance.

rumors of pED in the MLB has existed since the late 80s. It was ignored. When McGuire and Sosa was breaking a record WITH EASE with ease that something stood for decades the allegations where ignored. When MLB refused testing, all these athletes got a pass both from fans and media.

When Clemens ROID rage on Piazza by throwing the bat at him, it was excused.

When Bonds looked like incredible Hulk, it was ignored. These players did not get on the **** list until BALCO and some even got a longer pass until Congress investigation.

When M jones husband was caught, she was still given the benefit of the doubts.

Peterson - come on. Morales is going to get banned for 2 years. JCC got ****ing suspended for pot.

So again, show me a clear pattern in American dominated sports where Americans are not given the benefit of a doubt in regards to cheating.

I am not saying PBF will not be crucified when he tests positive or a witness comes forward but suspicion alone has not changed anything for America athletes. So to say Pac got the benefit of a doubt while PBF will not because he is a hated black American athlete is laughable. Facts are laughing.

jones, toney and Peterson - come on now.

I'm talking about Montoya...who is seemingly the only source to these unsubstantiated rumors. Whereas Team Pacquiao used every excuse in the book to keep Manny from having to test leading up to fights.

Its funny how they all cry about people being haters and yet they are nothing but a bunch of haters themselves....

I bet if you wished one day to wake up and read Floyd died in a fire after a car crash they would be all over your ass, how you gonna hate a man you dont even know the same old **** you know how they are...

Yeah I get your point that Manny situation seems more suspect, I have no qualms with that, but my gut reaction at the time was PBF was hiding something also.

Maybe they are unsubstantiated quotes from Montoya &/or Hauser but my thinking on this is like the Carl Lewis situation with Ben Johnson in athletics, take the focus off of yourself by pointing a finger. I know Lewis has denied this but American sports is rife with drug cheats.

Like I said, I think both doped.
