The rumour is that he was struggling with abstinence and got caught knocking one out in the gym bogs by John Gallagher.

He was a bit upset (rightly) that Gallagher ****ed off with the Smiths to visit Macklin in Spain.... leaving Crolla and the other lads on their own.

So Crolla started working with another coach in the meantime, which Gallagher wasn't happy with.

I must stress that this ''other coach'' is NOT Anthony Farnell. And that Arnie is NOT my source for this story, though he's probably aware of it.

As for Crolla being knocked out in sparring, last night was the first I'd heard of that one.

Gallagher is a strange case, Jeff Thomas said that he's a top bloke, but JG doesn't get on with Arnie or Billy Nelson, both of whom are sound blokes - Arnie I can personally vouch for.

And the way that he's teaching the lads to box just isn't working.... John Murray went backwards under his methods, and both Stephen and Paul Smith have suffered bad defeats - Stephen was taught a lesson in inside fighting by Simpson but showed balls to win a decision, before being hammered by Selby, and Paul was destroyed by DeGale and one-shotted by Groves.

Furthermore, Stephen is probably the weakest inside fighter I've ever seen, so why he's fighting as opposed to boxing I've no idea. He doesn't use his jab nearly enough, he moves too much and then gets caught out of position when trying to defend - his only answer is to just cling on for dear life.

 

Said it on here before and I will say it again. Gallagher is a **** boxing coach who is decent at getting lads fit. Hands up chin down March forward simply doesn't cut it as game plan 1, 2 and 3.
Seriously, I am a better coach than him. :deal

Can't blame Crolla for being pissed at Gallagher. Biggest fight of his career and mid way though camp Gallagher heads off to Spain with the Smith sisters.

 

I look forward to seeing Jimmy Floyd as a wildcard entry into Prizefighter before the year's out....
