David Haye: "I will tone down the trashtalking"

It's a pretty simple concept really.

I'm a little embarrassed for you that you need me to draw it out in a crayon.

 

A crayon it is then.

In 2008 the conditions for a Haye trash talking extravaganza were perfect. He was an accomplished brit Cruiserweight who had a perfect record save one excusable loss. He was heavy handed, fast, and seemingly dangerous.

Haye used his words and a few highlight reel knockouts to paint a picture of a boxer who was entirely capable of conquering the HW division. Unfortunately Haye was not truly the boxer in that picture. After years of creating his image that many a hapless brittard ate up, the time had finally come to see what Haye was actually made of.

Long story short, he lost. He lost in a relatively embarrassing fashion. He seemed to realize fairly quickly into the fight that he was not the man he was believed to be, nor Klitschko the "slow glassjaw robot" as he once thought. Haye had lost, and his time in the brightest spot of the limelight was over.

Moving forward a few years, and just who is David Haye? He is certainly not a man who can continue to walk around talking about conquering the HW division. He is 32 now, and a fighter who relies on speed. He likely will not fight Vitali, and Wladimir will certainly make Haye get into a position to fight him.

This means Haye needs to take on risky fights that he could very well lose. The only way he can achieve the limelight again is to go the humble route, put in his time in the HW ranking system, and once again earn the public's respect.

In 2008 he was in a great position to talk trash. In 2013, he is no longer seen as having the potential to achieve great things, and continuing talking trash will only turn the public away.

 

I watched it to see what Haye would do.

 

It's really simple why Haye lost to Wlad.



He over estimated AND under estimated Wladimir's chin


He under estimated Wlad's chin PRIOR to the fight and over estimated during the fight.

He thought he could have shattered glass with a jab... The reality is he could actually shatter glass if he just fight aggressively for 3 minutes.

Shaunster's humour is wasted on these muppets tbh. Half of them can't tell they're having the **** taken out of them, the other half don't have the wit to come back with a sharp reply. It's like watching SNV hold a midget at arm's length while kicking them in the groin, not that I've actually seen that happen (yet).
