Both probably deserved to lose. I won't be watching the rematch.

 

Boxing is one of the only sport where watching it from one man's perspective can completely skew your view of the outcome. Watch that fight with the sound turned down and its was a 1-3 round win for Chilemba. And thats giving Bellew some rounds that could have gone either way.

Walking a man down and missing wildly, hitting fresh air/gloves is all well and good and can be called "working", but its plain as day that all of the quality came from Chilemba, a harder puncher would have knocked Bellew out with some of his counters. And also with some of his leads in the second half of the fight.

Just because Chilemba had a more relaxed style doesn't take away from the fact he landed more. Were there any compubox stats in terms of shots landed?

I'm guessing there wasn't as it may have told poor old Tony a different story.

Bellew seems to think if he is not being hurt then he deserves a decision. He doesn't seem to think scoring punches carry much weight

Do you just not read what others have written?

Most don't have a problem with a draw or a close win, it's Sky's surreal insistence that Bellew was clearly ahead and has been hard done by.

Conteh (and Nelson, weirdly) have been pretty fair-minded about what went on in the ring. Bellew made a good start but as soon as Chilemba started staying centre ring and moving him around, Bellew looked clueless.

A draw is fair, or a point either way, but the way Sky's team was going on you'd have thought this was highway robbery. In reality Tony was lucky.

He shouldn't want a rematch - he'll look **** again and could easily lose.

 

I had a draw at best(for Bellew), and if anyone edged it it was Chilemba as I felt he won more clear rounds.

And yes, the commentary and Jim Watt's scoring were awful.

I don't recall seeing many stats showing the number of punches thrown and landed which they usually show every other round. Probably because Bellew struggled to hit him all night

That was a horrible fight.
