Martinez too crafty at this stage imo.

Close UD after a beautiful tactical fight

Martinez wins by decisions or the late KO.

People are just going with the safe bet in Martinez. You actually have to put thought into how the styles match up. GGG has an amazing jab, which is almost a power punch in the way it shocks you and makes you reset. Martinez is known to eat jabs when they are thrown with regularity.

This isn't a simple fight by any means.

I can understand and given a lot of thought into this

But as much as i love Golovkin, hes far too slow!

Martinez would out work him much like he did Chavez (only more successful due to the size difference) but the danger comes from Golovkins power, if Golovkins chin is as good as it seems then chances are he would walk through those shots and would only need to land that one punch but I need to see more of GGG against top tier opposition before being able to competently predict an outcome.

Proksa has an awkward style but is very limited
Rosado was all heart, moved up from LMW
Ishida is Golovkins best win, durable journyman though

    Get Golovkin in with :

    Mathew Macklin
    Dmitry Pirog
    Marco Antonio Rubio

Either one of these 3 would give a better gauge on how good he really is, I would have listed Quillin, Sturm or Geale but those 3 are flat out ducking Golovkin and Chavez is on suspension

Perfect situation would be Chavez Jr. feels brave and picks GGG as his comeback fight and KO's Julio in the center of the ring. Effectively derailing the bs rematch, and forcing Sergio's hand.

Martinez by decision. I wouldn't be shocked if GGG got the KO, but I am confident that Sergio would box VERY smart to win a decision.

Too bad HBO voluntarily gave up their ability to make Chavez take on an at least somewhat quality opponent when they announced they weren't working with Golden Boy and in turn got rid of Broner's claim to the date Chavez wanted.

You don't need to have blazing speed to be effective against Martinez. Good jab, effective footwork to crowd and cut him off, and "good enough" defense. Add to that, power to back Martinez off when he feels brave and starts putting his punches together.

IMO, GGG has all of those qualities. Whether he can do it is another story, but he's definitely got the tools.

GGG destroying one of Martinez's past opponents is a sure fire way to ramp up interest in the fight. Hope he gets one of the UK'ers.

If sexy's, movement is all there. The number 2 pound for pound fighter in the world, would knock him out.
