Took the fight on two weeks notice.. jumped up to a weight class hes never fought at and put a clinic on a big time puncher.. and didnt stray away from the gameplan despite fighting in front of the Rios-Alvarado crowd.. Hes gonna be a problem for the lightweight/light welter division fasho.. :yep
Boxed really well. The guy knows how to maximize a southpaw stance and set up a right jab. Making the decision to switch was really smart. The jab loses much of its relevance when you put two fighters in opposite stances, unless one of them side-steps with their jab, and Prescott wasn't going to turn better than Crawford, especially not as the aggressor taking the first step forward. And with the way Crawford was circling, the right hand was also neutralized. Goes to show that the rear hand isn't just automatically there when facing someone in the opposite stance, you have to set it up.
He impressed the heck out of me. Crafty and polished this early in his career bodes really well. I was also glad to see him step up his offense and take the fight to Prescott a bit later in the fight. I'll definitely keep my eye on this kid.
Yeah I was impressed, he boxed circles round Prescott, who I think is a shot fighter now but that is in no way taking away from Crawford's performance, 2 weeks notice and a jump up in weight, very impressive!!
I had dude picked as a early KO victim of Prescott... (Having NEVER seen him mind you) I was impressed by him 100%. Can't wait to see what happens next or how they match him.
He is the wildcard. Can make anyone look stupid. It was funny to see Precott frustrated... he prob thought it was gonna be another 54 second paycheck for him.... Crawf made him pay for each cent he'll be gettin tonight.
