Blashemous thread really. Arguably the greatest boxer in the world, who has beaten a super middleweight murderers row, coming off a ko win over Chad Dawson, and hes gonna lose because of a jab and right hand from a guy whose best win is Ouma. A guy who fought 2 light middleweights in a row one of which busted his face up. Not even top rated light middleweights either.

Just wow. Atleast Lucian Bute was fighting legit contenders in his own weight class

Hating on what? Beating 154 pounders? Getting 350,00 for a fight? If GGG was black you would call him a coward

While GGG's amateur resume matches Ward's pro, I'm not having a resume argument, cause it means ****all when the bell rings, just ask Kessler. What matter is what both bring to the ring skill, power, style-wise, and I have a pretty good track record with unpopular opinions, not that I predicted GGG to win outright, just opinioned that he absolutely possesses the style to trouble Ward, I guess we’ll see.

The difference between you and me is me not factoring resume into chances of win, cause guess what, if Ward was at pre-Miranda stage of his career, you'd pick GGG for the win. That logic is equally flawed cause it’s proven wrong over and over again when the upcoming underdog beats the experienced favorite, but whether my breakdown is flawed or not is still up to question, cause it’s based on something that can only be judged by the fight itself. Sooner the better, I’ll be here.

Did you just say GGG amatuer resume matches Wards Pro

    Holy ****ing jesus christ. :patsch:rofl

Ward has looked superior against a wider range of styles, againsr bigger better man than GGG has.

Ward has never looked as poor as GGG did against Rosado this late into his career.

Funny thing is Ward was announcing that fight, obviously HBO trying to build up some momentum for a match up. But GGG ended up struggling to get a C level junior middlewweight out of there and got busted up in the process and Ward upon viewing this made the logical statement

"GGG needs to get in the gym and work on his defense"

    Agreed Andre

Ward holds virtually all the advantages in this match up, IMO, aside from arguably power.

Both have the timing and judge of distance down it seems, but Ward has proven it on a higher level so far. Combine that with his speed and explosiveness, he has Golovkin beat in this area. GGG cuts the ring off well and distributes his weight very well, but Ward at least matches him in this area with his footwork and movement.

Ward holds the size and physical advantage also, wouldn't look out of sorts or struggle physically up at 175lbs. I could see him taking away GGG's jab, exploding in whilst firing the right and left hook and then smothering GGG's work up close. He has him beaten arguably at any range.

GGG's defense is good, he rolls, slips, parries and blocks shots well, but again, Ward at the very least matches him in this area, tucks his chin very well, rarely see him catch clean shots.

Don't see this match up coming off any time soon anyway.

Edit: I'd like to add that Ward also has the beating of Golovkin in terms of Ring IQ, and arguably ring generalship.

Trouble is, ggg is a bit short? Would ward not have size/ reach advantage?

Ward is too big, too slick, too Irish.

Your post is about Golovkin's jab being decisive against Ward. I brought up Froch, a super middleweight with a long reach and a very good jab who could not come close to Ward with it.

    To refresh your memory:

Look at the distance Ward maintains. This is no Ishida standing flat-footed, hands down, midrange and eating jabs.

You're going to have to explain how Golovkin handles Ward with his jab, when Froch couldn't land with it. Froch is entirely relevant here, so you might as well address the point.

even that analogy breaks down, because unlike Barkley, Ward won the highest honor at the amateur level as well as the pro level.

I'm a massive fan of Golovkin, been on the bandwagon when hardly anyone knew of him, but Ward would beat him imo.
